The e-commerce major informed in a message that it\u2019s investigating the incident.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with CNBC, Shahrour, who has been working at Amazon for the past three years, said that the company revoked his access to the official email and tools and removed his Slack posts as part of the suspension. Livemint could not independently verify the report.<\/p>\n<p>Details of Nimbus contract<\/p>\n<p>Amazon has not commented on the <a class=\"backlink\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.livemint.com\/news\/world\/google-fires-20-more-over-protests-says-report-what-is-project-nimbus-why-are-googlers-protesting-all-you-need-to-know-11713847521853.html\" data-vars-page-type=\"story\" data-vars-link-type=\"Manual\" data-vars-anchor-text=\"Nimbus\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Nimbus <\/a>contract beyond saying it supplies technology to customers \u201cwherever they are based&#8221;. Google has previously stated that it offers widely available cloud computing services to the Israeli government, which are not \u201cdirected at highly sensitive, classified, or military workloads.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>What did Amazon say?<\/p>\n<p>Without directly referring to Shahrour&#8217;s letter, <a class=\"backlink\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.livemint.com\/gadgets-and-appliances\/gmail-launches-new-purchases-tab-to-organise-your-amazon-orders-and-track-deliveries-11757661892576.html\" data-vars-page-type=\"story\" data-vars-link-type=\"Manual\" data-vars-anchor-text=\"Amazon\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Amazon <\/a>spokesperson Brad Glasser wrote in an email to CNBC, \u201cWe don\u2019t tolerate discrimination, harassment, or threatening behaviour or language of any kind in our workplace, and when any conduct of that nature is reported, we investigate it and take appropriate action based on our findings.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Employees at Amazon, Google, <a class=\"backlink\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.livemint.com\/companies\/news\/microsoft-openai-reach-non-binding-deal-to-allow-openai-to-restructure-11757631789838.html\" data-vars-page-type=\"story\" data-vars-link-type=\"Manual\" data-vars-anchor-text=\"Microsoft\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Microsoft <\/a>and other companies are speaking out against business dealings with the Israeli military. Last month, Microsoft dismissed two employees who had taken part in a protest at the company\u2019s headquarters. In April 2024, Google sacked 28 employees following a series of protests over working conditions and its involvement in Project Nimbus.
