Matt Damon and his wife, Luciana Barroso Damon<\/a>, have built a Hollywood romance that\u2019s spanned more than two decades. Since marrying in 2005, the couple has raised a family of four daughters, who occasionally step into the spotlight alongside their parents\u2014including most recently at The Odyssey\u2019<\/a>s London premiere in July.<\/p>\n

When Matt met his future wife in 2003, she was bartending at a Miami bar while he was in town filming Stuck on You. Luciana was already the mother of a four-year-old daughter, Alexia, and initially assumed that would discourage the actor from pursuing a relationship with her. Instead, he embraced becoming a stepfather from the very beginning. \u201cI jumped into the deep end with Lucy,\u201d he told Parade<\/a> in 2011. \u201cI mean, Alexia was already four. I was an extra dad.\u201d<\/p>\n

After tying the knot, the couple welcomed three daughters together: Isabella, Gia, and Stella. Matt has even honored his wife and four kids with tattoos of all their names.<\/p>\n

While their eldest made a brief appearance in one of the actor\u2019s films, it\u2019s still unclear whether any of the girls will follow in their dad\u2019s footsteps into Hollywood.<\/p>\n

Alexia Barroso is Luciana\u2019s eldest daughter from her previous marriage to Arbello Barroso. Born in Argentina in 1999, Alexia was just four years old when Matt met her mother in 2003. Luciana later recalled to Vogue Australia<\/a> that after their first meeting, she turned down Damon\u2019s invitation to join him and his friends because she needed to get home to her daughter.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was like, \u2018I can\u2019t. I have a four-year-old daughter. I\u2019m not going anywhere,\u2019\u201d she said. But the actor admired that being a mom was her priority. \u201cThat was one of the things he loved,\u201d she said. \u201cSome guys might have been different… but for him it wasn\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n

Matt has often spoken about embracing his role as Alexia\u2019s stepfather from the very beginning, calling himself \u201can extra dad.\u201d In 2011, he told Parade, \u201cI jumped into the deep end with Lucy. I mean, Alexia was already four.\u201d<\/p>\n

Though Alexia has largely stayed out of the spotlight, she made a brief cameo in Matt\u2019s 2011 film We Bought a Zoo. While promoting The Odyssey, he revealed that his stepdaughter is now working in cinematography. \u201cShe\u2019s done about 12 movies,\u201d the actor told E! News<\/a>. \u201cShe\u2019s worked on the camera team all over the world.\u201d<\/p>\n

Her Instagram<\/a> showcases her passion for photography, as she frequently shares portraits she\u2019s taken, including several of Matt and her sisters. According to her website<\/a>, she\u2019s a New York-based photographer with a focus on fashion, portraits, and nature photography.<\/p>\n

One year after tying the knot, Matt and Luciana welcomed their first child together, Isabella Damon, on June 11, 2006. Isabella has occasionally accompanied her parents to red carpet events over the years, most recently joining them at The Odyssey\u2019s New York premiere in July 2026.<\/p>\n

Though Isabella has largely stayed out of the spotlight so far, Matt has shared sweet stories about their father-daughter relationship. During a 2021 appearance on E! News<\/a>, the actor joked that then-15-year-old Isabella was his toughest (and funniest) critic, refusing to watch his movies if they received positive reviews. \u201cIf the reviews come out and they\u2019re terrible, then she\u2019ll watch it,\u201d he said. \u201cIf they come out and they’re good, she\u2019s going to pass…. She\u2019s looking for ammunition all the time. She’s like one of the funniest people I\u2019ve ever met. She\u2019s really cool.\u201d<\/p>\n

That same year, Matt revealed in an interview with Tara Hitchcock<\/a> that Isabella was a devoted Harry Styles fan and that he and Luciana surprised her with the ultimate Christmas gift: a personalized video message from the singer. He recalled, \u201cLast Christmas… We gave my 15-year-old a life-size cardboard cutout of Harry Styles. Harry Styles did a little video and said, \u2018Hello\u2019 to her, and she lost her mind. I think that was the best we\u2019ve done so far. I don\u2019t know how we\u2019ll top it.\u201d<\/p>\n

In 2024, Isabella graduated from high school and enrolled in New York University. At the time, Matt revealed that Isabella heading off to college was a huge adjustment for the family. \u201cWe have a 26-year-old, so we\u2019ve been through this once before, but it\u2019s still a major adjustment for us and for her sisters,\u201d he explained to E! News<\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s a different household with one less person there. So, it\u2019s a big adjustment.\u201d<\/p>\n

Currently 17 years old, Gia Damon is Matt and Luciana\u2019s third daughter and was born in Miami on August 20, 2008. Shortly after Gia\u2019s birth, the actor told People that he was more than happy to be outnumbered at home by girls. \u201cIt is really great,\u201d he quipped.<\/p>\n

Though Gia has largely stayed out of the public eye, Matt shared a sweet glimpse into their relationship during an appearance on Travis and Jason Kelce\u2019s New Heights podcast<\/a> in 2026. After Gia recently broke her collarbone, she asked her dad to brush her hair\u2014a task he realized he hadn\u2019t done in nearly a decade.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hadn\u2019t brushed her hair [in] I don\u2019t know, eight, nine, years?\u201d he said. Reflecting on how quickly his daughters have grown up, he added, \u201cI don\u2019t remember when I brushed her hair for the last time…The changes are so incremental that you don\u2019t realize.\u201d<\/p>\n

Stella Damon, the youngest daughter of Matt and Luciana, was born on October 20, 2010, in New York City. Not long after her birth, the actor shared an update with People on the changing dynamic of going from three to four kids. \u201cIt\u2019s been pretty crazy. The baby came a couple of weeks early. It\u2019s our fourth, so we\u2019ve done it before\u2014but it\u2019s a whole new dynamic,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Now a high school student, Stella hasn\u2019t spent much time in the spotlight alongside her parents and older sisters\u2014though she has attended a few of her dad\u2019s recent movie premieres. While promoting The Odyssey, Matt was asked whether any of his daughters planned to follow in his acting footsteps. He revealed that his eldest daughter, Alexia, has already begun working as a cinematographer, but he\u2019s not sure about his younger ones, Isabella, Gia, and Stella, yet.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe other three might [follow me into the family business],\u201d he told E! News<\/a>. \u201cI have one [daughter] who\u2019s at NYU now, who\u2019s a fantastic writer, so I could see her following me into screenwriting. And we have two still in high school, so we\u2019ll see.\u201d<\/p>\n
