Today, the Destin Daniel Cretton directed movie is becoming the fastest to cross half billion at the domestic box office, pulling this off in a week\u2019s time and beating the eight days that it took Disney\/Marvel\u2019s Avengers: Endgame back in 2019 to cross that threshold. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Tom Holland-Zendaya starring movie becomes the 23rd movie at the North American box office to gross north of $500M, a list that\u2019s led by 2015\u2019s Star Wars: The Force Awakens with $936.6M. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Previously, it took Force Awakens ten days to pass a half billion stateside, while the previous Spider-Man: No Way Home in 2021 took 12 days to hit that mark. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today, Brand New Day is looking at around $27M or more in U.S.\/Canada. Note, Imax auditoriums, which weren\u2019t part of Brand New Day\u2018s opening suite, finally get to project the sequel in a co-share with Universal\u2019s The Odyssey (which continues to have reported near sold out seats in major Imax markets into October). Spidey will hold onto to all the PLFs this weekend. After today, the running cume for Brand New Day will stand at an estimated $508.8M. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yesterday, Brand New Day grossed $32.7M, becoming the second-best Wednesday ever for a non-opening title behind Force Awakens\u2018 $38M Wednesday on Dec. 23, 2015. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This weekend, it\u2019s essentially counterprogramming going up against the second frame of Brand New Day which could clock a sophomore frame record (or come close to hitting). That benchmark is currently owned by Force Awakens\u2019 second weekend of $149.2M.
