Tributes have been paid to a “kind and genuinely humble” young man “who was genuinely loved by everyone who knew him” following his tragic death earlier this month.<\/strong><\/p>\n Jason O’Dwyer, who was originally from Ballincollig<\/a>, tragically passed away<\/a> on Friday, July 31, following a diving accident. Beloved son of Sheelagh and the late Jamie and loving brother of Ian, Mark and Nicola, Jason is sadly missed by his mother, brothers, sister, girlfriend Mili, sister-in-law Jasmine, his two nephews Jacob and Ethan, work colleagues and wider circle of family and friends.<\/p>\n Jason, who was known as ‘Jase’ to his friends and family, was a hugely popular figure and his tragic death has sent shockwaves through Cork and beyond.<\/p>\n The young man worked as Marketing Specialist at Workvivo at the company’s office in Cork city<\/a>, where he made a huge impression on his co-workers, the Irish Mirror<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n A number of his Workvivo colleagues have shared heartfelt tributes to Jason, who has been remembered as a “gentle, kind soul” who was “hugely respected by his work colleagues, near and far”.<\/p>\n One co-worker described Jason as “a true gentleman, a great colleague, and someone who was genuinely loved by everyone who knew him,” adding: “I’ll remember Jase most for his kindness, his warmth, and the positive impact he had on so many people. He will be missed so much in the Cork office. My heart goes out to his family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. I hope you’re able to find comfort in the memories you shared together. Rest in peace, Jase. x:<\/p>\n Another person added: “Jason was a rare person, kind and genuinely humble, easy to talk to and work with. He was smart and skilled in so many ways, bringing depth and talent to everything he did. But what struck you most was his character: he approached the world without judgment or cynicism, and he had a real commitment to doing good work and doing it well. Working with him was a privilege, and his absence leaves a profound gap. My heart is with Sheelagh and family during this difficult time. I hope they find some comfort in knowing how deeply he touched those of us who had the good fortune to work alongside him.”<\/p>\n A third person said: “Sending my deepest sympathies to Jason’s family, friends and everyone who had the privilege of working alongside him. Thinking of you all as you navigate this heartbreaking loss. Jason’s absence will be felt throughout our Cork office where he made such a lasting impression on so many of us. Rest in peace, Jason.”<\/p>\n While another of Jason’s co-workers added: “Sincere condolences to Jason’s family. He was loved by everybody at Workvivo – an amazing talent, brilliant at what he did but also a very genuine and warm human being. He was a special person. May he rest in peace.”<\/p>\n Many of Jason’s close friends have also paid tribute to the popular young man. One mouner said: “There are people who make a room brighter just by being in it, and Jason was one of them.<\/p>\n “Talking with him had a way of sparking something new in your mind – whether it was a great lunch rec, a fun work idea, or just a different way of seeing things – you’d walk away smiling. Generous with his time, quick with his wit, and always genuinely thoughtful, that was Jason. The impact he made on the people around him won’t be forgotten. Sending love to his family and everyone who was lucky enough to know him.”<\/p>\n Another person added: “My thoughts are with Jason’s family, I’m so sorry for your loss. Jason was a warm, friendly and gentle soul. He was so well liked and will be deeply missed.<\/p>\n While a close pal said: “Sending my heartfelt condolences to Jase’s family and friends. He was such a kind, humble soul, a great colleague and will be deeply missed.”<\/p>\n A cremation service was held for Jason at The Island Crematorium in Ringaskiddy on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
