That sexual abuse led to two pregnancies, including one resulting in the child\u2019s death, she said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Her father still controls and abuses her, she said, including coming into her home \u201cwhenever he feels like it\u201d, smashing up things, including her phone and TV, stealing her car, which was bought with a damages award to her and taking her social welfare payments. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">She has several children who have been taken into care \u201cdue to all of this\u201d, she told Judge \u00c1ine Clancy at the Family Law Court in Dolphin House, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/dublin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/dublin\/\">Dublin<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/an-garda-siochana\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/an-garda-siochana\/\">Garda\u00ed<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/tusla\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/tusla\/\">Tusla<\/a> have helped her and she is now in a refuge \u201cfor safety\u201d, the woman said. \u201cI\u2019m ready to speak.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">She made some disclosures previously, she added.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">After the judge asked had she received medical assistance, the woman said she has a good relationship with her doctor and counselling and other appointments have been made for her. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The woman was accompanied into court by two garda\u00ed. One said he is with a child protection unit and the situation regarding the woman is \u201ccomplex\u201d, different jurisdictions and investigations are involved, and an ongoing \u201csignificant risk\u201d of harm to the children led to their being taken into care. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The woman is co-operating with garda\u00ed regarding what is best for her and the children, he added.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Clancy, who earlier noted the woman\u2019s information supporting her application was \u201creally extreme\u201d, said she had \u201cno hesitation\u201d granting a protection order. After she told the woman she hoped she is looking after herself, the woman replied: \u201cI\u2019m trying\u201d and thanked the judge.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The ex parte (one side only represented) application was among several made to the judge under the Domestic Violence Act on Friday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">A distressed mother got an interim barring order against her adult son, who has addiction issues. She said he recently came into her bedroom at night looking for money and put his hand over her mouth and throat before taking her purse.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">He came back into her bedroom after realising there were no bank cards in the purse and held her up against the wall, demanding she give him cash, she said. She agreed to Revolut him \u20ac300 \u201cbecause my nerves were gone\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">She rang garda\u00ed, but her son later came back to the house and waited at the top of the stairs with a butcher knife \u201cbecause he knew the garda\u00ed were coming\u201d, she said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">\u201cIt just didn\u2019t seem like him, there were no features in his face, it was like looking at glass in his eyes,\u201d she said. \u201cI feared he would kill me.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">When the judge asked if the marks on her face were a result of this incident, the woman said, when she gets stressed, blood vessels burst in her face. She has marks on the back of her neck from her son holding her against the wall, she added.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Her son was in Garda custody on Friday, the woman told the judge. \u201cThe garda\u00ed were lovely.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The woman, a widow, said this was the first time she sought an order against her son but she felt she had \u201cno choice\u201d. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">\u201cThis has been coming a long time,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Another upset mother, who said her adult son is a cocaine addict, got an interim barring order against him.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The woman said she fled her home when a drug dealer arrived there over three days, kicked the door in and threatened \u201cto get me and beat me up\u201d. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">\u201cI was terrified,\u201d she said.
