Olivia Wilde<\/a> turned heads as she walked the red carpet in a plunging leather dress at Switzerland’s Locarno Film Festival on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The actress, 42, looked incredible\u00a0in the deep plunging number that flowed into a soft blush<\/a> pink gown.<\/p>\n

Posing up a storm on the red carpet, she finished her look off with dainty jewellery.<\/p>\n

During the press conference at the Film Festival for her new film The Invite, the actress revealed that the movie has made her ‘become so much more romantic’.<\/p>\n

The Invite, which has received rave reviews, follows a bickering couple who are faced with the issues in their marriage after hosting their sexually-liberated friends for dinner.<\/p>\n

Olivia admitted that the movie had melted the ‘cynic out of me’.\u00a0<\/p>\n

She said:\u00a0‘I have spoken to people who have been through so much with their partners, and people have been in marriages for 40, 50, 60 years.<\/p>\n

‘They told me it was a very honest depiction of their own experience of really having several relationships with the same person.’<\/p>\n

‘Now, I feel that it’s much more about whether a relationship can begin again with the same person, whether you can have multiple relationships with one person, and actually whether there’s more merit to that than I would have thought before.’<\/p>\n

The Invite follows married couple Joe (played by Seth Rogen) and Angela (played by Olivia Wilde) whose ‘marriage is on thin ice’, as per the IMDb synopsis.<\/p>\n

‘When they invite their enigmatic upstairs neighbors for a dinner party, the night spirals into unexpected places.’<\/p>\n

The ‘enigmatic upstairs neighbors’ Pina and Hawk are played by Hollywood veterans Penelope Cruz and Edward Norton.<\/p>\n

Her latest comments come after she reflected on being named the top girl on Maxim’s Hot 100 list almost 20 years ago.<\/p>\n

In 2009, she posed in a skintight white dress on the cover of the men’s magazine to mark the accolade.<\/p>\n

Now she says that she has mixed feelings about the honour, describing it as the ‘most f***** up thing in the world’.<\/p>\n

During an appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast, she explained, ‘I remember my publicist called me and said, you’re number one, do you want to accept it?<\/p>\n

‘I remember being like, I understand this is the most f***** up thing in the world, but the part of me that felt who didn’t fit in from high school, the girl who never felt like who fit those standards, who felt awkward and wrong in every way, I know that part of me was like, really? You want me?’<\/p>\n

The star explained that she didn’t like that her value was ‘entirely dependent on our fickle, subjective definition of beauty’.<\/p>\n

Despite this, she acknowledged that the recognition helped her in her acting career.<\/p>\n

‘I got roles upon roles from that. It led to casting,’ she admitted.<\/p>\n

‘You have to take responsibility for your participation in that self-objectification.’<\/p>\n

After becoming a huge name in front of the camera, Olivia has now diversified her career by moving into directing.<\/p>\n

She made her directorial debut with the teen comedy film Booksmart in 2019, and Wilde explained that she relished the experience.<\/p>\n

She previously told The Talks: ‘Directing has been liberating in a way that is very profound because as an actor, you are very dependent.<\/p>\n

‘You’re dependent on people choosing you and people projecting a certain kind of definition onto you of a character of what you are,’ she continued.<\/p>\n

‘I think it’s quite an enormous responsibility to hold all of those projections.’<\/p>\n

She added: ‘With being director, there’s a sense of agency. I think the first time that I called action on my own set of my first film, I felt a thrill of independence for the first time.<\/p>\n

‘My value on a set was entirely based on my ideas and if I had an instinct to change a scene, I could do that.’<\/p>\n

Along with the Invite, Olivia has\u00a0also directed the controversial 2022 film Don’t Worry Darling, starring her ex Harry Styles.<\/p>\n
