Marcus Rashford is back at Manchester United and Michael Carrick has now told fans what his plan is for the Carrington graduate.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Over 18 months since his last Manchester United performance, Marcus Rashford<\/a> is back and preparing for a full-time return in 2026\/27.<\/p>\n

Rashford will join up with the squad<\/a> this week, although the 1-1 draw with PSG came too early for him following his participation in the 2026 World Cup with England.<\/p>\n

As he prepares for his highly-anticipated return, Rashford has extra motivation<\/a> to get his United career back on track, and Michael Carrick<\/a> is excited to have the 28-year-old back in his squad.<\/p>\n

Speaking after United\u2019s draw with PSG, Carrick gave fans an insight into what to expect over the next week as pre-season preparations ramp up.<\/p>\n

The Red Devils have two upcoming friendlies in the space of a week: against Leeds United<\/a> on Wednesday and then against Ruben Amorim\u2019s AC Milan<\/a> on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Speaking to MUTV, Carrick confirmed Rashford will be back, available and part of his first-team plans.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve played with him. I played in the game he made his debut, so we have a history,\u201d Carrick said of Rashford.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have got a full squad this week in Dublin. We fly straight there and have a few days where we have the whole group back together.<\/p>\n

Carrick then explained that Rashford is part of a triple return boost: \u201cMarcus is part of that, and Kobbie [Mainoo] and Lisandro [Martinez]. We look forward to seeing them.\u201d<\/p>\n

His return will be highly anticipated, but it has to be managed properly by Carrick.<\/p>\n

Like in the friendly against PSG, Carrick didn\u2019t expect too much from the likes of Noussair Mazraoui, Diogo Dalot and Bruno Fernandes in their first match back from World Cup duty.<\/p>\n

The same expectations should be set for Mainoo and Rashford. Both are in need of minutes, fitness and match sharpness.<\/p>\n

There is extra rivalry and motivation attached to the friendlies against Leeds and AC Milan, but ultimately Carrick will be most concerned about keeping his star players fit and building sharpness ahead of the Premier League opener against Hull City.<\/p>\n
