{"id":629245,"date":"2026-08-09T22:38:16","date_gmt":"2026-08-09T22:38:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/629245\/"},"modified":"2026-08-09T22:38:16","modified_gmt":"2026-08-09T22:38:16","slug":"wreckfest-2-on-ps5-and-xbox-just-a-few-more-laps-to-the-finish-line","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/629245\/","title":{"rendered":"Wreckfest 2 on PS5 and Xbox, \u201cjust a few more laps to the finish line\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p id=\"h-\">There was a THQ Nordic showcase premiere recently, with <a href=\"https:\/\/traxion.gg\/category\/games\/wreckfest-2\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Wreckfest 2<\/a> touted pre-event to be one of the titles showcased.<\/p>\n<p>And it was, but without much fanfare. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=7rALY2BE-eI\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">A new trailer<\/a> simply recapped past early access updates. There were no future update teasers, sadly.<\/p>\n<p>However, there was one minuscule crumb of information, teasing those on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.<\/p>\n<p>Following a few sentences about the game\u2019s progress since early access PC release in February 2025 (wow, time flies!), there\u2019s the following in the publisher\u2019s press release:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd yes, once we\u2019re ready, we\u2019ll talk about the console release \u2013 just a few more laps to the finish line!\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Wreckfest-2-consoles-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"Wreckfest 2 consoles\" class=\"wp-image-106804\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Over the past 18 months, there have been eight major content updates for the embryonic smash-a-thon.<\/p>\n<p>These have included further tracks, vehicles, the CRAP-IT customisation tool and tweaks to online multiplayer, although a single-player career or campaign remains absent presently.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s no set cadence to the recent updates, each major patch arriving between one month and three months apart so far.<\/p>\n<p>The last roadmap was published in February 2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJust a few more laps to the finish line\u201d could be interpreted as a relatively close Version 1.0 launch.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s little doubting the increased visual fidelity, refined vehicle dynamics and more detailed damage systems compared to the original.
