{"id":630562,"date":"2026-08-10T18:00:24","date_gmt":"2026-08-10T18:00:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/630562\/"},"modified":"2026-08-10T18:00:24","modified_gmt":"2026-08-10T18:00:24","slug":"paper-tiger-trailer-adam-driver-miles-teller-in-james-gray-drama","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/630562\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Paper Tiger&#8217; Trailer: Adam Driver, Miles Teller In James Gray Drama"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/neon\/\" id=\"auto-tag_neon\" data-tag=\"neon\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Neon<\/a> on Monday released the trailer for <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/paper-tiger\/\" id=\"auto-tag_paper-tiger\" data-tag=\"paper-tiger\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Paper Tiger<\/a>, the drama written and directed by <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/james-gray\/\" id=\"auto-tag_james-gray\" data-tag=\"james-gray\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">James Gray<\/a> that had its world premiere in competition at the Cannes Film Festival.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The pic, starring <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/adam-driver\/\" id=\"auto-tag_adam-driver\" data-tag=\"adam-driver\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Adam Driver<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/scarlett-johansson\/\" id=\"auto-tag_scarlett-johansson\" data-tag=\"scarlett-johansson\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Scarlett Johansson<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/miles-teller\/\" id=\"auto-tag_miles-teller\" data-tag=\"miles-teller\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Miles Teller<\/a>, is gearing for a November 13 limited release date in the heart of awards season. First up, though, the New York-set movie is booked to <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2026\/07\/new-york-film-festival-opening-night-james-gray-paper-tiger-1236983888\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">open the New York Film Festival<\/a> at the end of September.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Paper Tiger, set in 1986 Queens, NY, centers on brothers Gary (Driver), an ex-cop, and Isaac (Teller), an engineer, who become entangled in a scheme (thanks to Gary) that ends up involving the Russian mafia. The plan threatens to upend their chances at the American Dream, fray bonds, and put their entire family at dangerous risk. Johansson plays Isaac\u2019s wife, who has her own turmoil.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gray says the story is loosely based on his own family\u2019s encounter with the Russian mafia in 1980s NYC.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In his <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2026\/05\/paper-tiger-adam-driver-miles-teller-scarlett-johansson-1236907110\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">review<\/a>, Deadline\u2019s Pete Hammond, who saw the film in Cannes, called it \u201csuperbly crafted by Gray, who knows how to twist a crime-genre tale into something fresh and pulse-pounding. He also realizes having a stake in these very recognizable characters is key to all of it working as well as it does, and casting actors on the level of Driver, Johansson and Teller makes [it] soar.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The movie received a <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2026\/05\/paper-tiger-roars-cannes-premiere-standing-ovation-1236907113\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">10-minute standing ovation<\/a> after its Cannes premiere.
