{"id":630662,"date":"2026-08-10T19:14:21","date_gmt":"2026-08-10T19:14:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/630662\/"},"modified":"2026-08-10T19:14:21","modified_gmt":"2026-08-10T19:14:21","slug":"american-hostage-trailer-jon-hamm-faces-tense-standoff","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/630662\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;American Hostage&#8217; Trailer: Jon Hamm Faces Tense Standoff"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/jon-hamm\/\" id=\"auto-tag_jon-hamm_1\" data-tag=\"jon-hamm\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jon Hamm<\/a> plays a 1970s radio reporter facing a tense three-day hostage standoff in the trailer for American Hostage, the psychological thriller from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/mgm-3\/\" id=\"auto-tag_mgm-3_1\" data-tag=\"mgm-3\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">MGM+<\/a> set to debut on Sept. 20.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tHamm, reprising his role from the narrative podcast series of the same name, is Fred Heckman who, in real life, was a popular Indianapolis WIBC radio reporter \u201cthrust into the middle of a life-or-death crisis when hostage taker Tony Kiritsis demands to be interviewed on his popular radio news program,\u201d according to a synopsis from Sony Pictures Television.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/giovanni-ribisi\/\" id=\"auto-tag_giovanni-ribisi_1\" data-tag=\"giovanni-ribisi\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Giovanni Ribisi<\/a> plays Kiritsis, who rings into Heckman\u2019s call-in show to announce he has a 12-guage shotgun aimed a man\u2019s neck. \u201cI\u2019m a mad, mean mother, and if anyone makes a move, he will die right here,\u201d the hostage taker adds at one point in the teaser trailer. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tHeckman and his radio team wrestle with whether to give Kiritsis airtime, before taking a risk and going ahead. \u201cHello Tony. You are live and on the air,\u201d Hamm\u2019s character declares at another point in the trailer, which opens the way to 63 hours of chaos and confrontation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tCo-created by Shawn Ryan and Eileen Myers, the eight-episode American Hostage series from Sony Pictures Television will culminate with a finale on Nov. 1.  Ryan and Eileen Myers co-wrote the series script after the duo previously teamed for Amazon\u2019s\u00a0Mad Dogs.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tAmerican\u00a0Hostage\u00a0also stars Kristoffer Polaha, William Jackson Harper, Mireille Enos, Jonathan Tucker and Kat Cunning.
