Following meetings and auditions over the last couple months, sources say a small group of actors tested for a few prime X-Men roles after the July 4 holiday.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, we\u2019ve broken the news about who\u2019s likely to play <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2026\/08\/kit-connor-cyclops-x-men-movie-marvel-studios-1237018735\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Scott Summers<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2026\/07\/x-men-samara-weaving-emma-frost-marvel-studios-1237013568\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Emma Frost<\/a> and Spider-Man: Brand New Day has introduced us to the next <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2026\/08\/sadie-sink-x-men-filming-update-cyclops-casting-1237029050\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jean Grey<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>While the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday will <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/03\/avengers-doomsday-cast-1236351122\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">feature familiar faces<\/a> in many iconic X-Men roles, these new castings are for what will be the first X-Men movie since Disney\u2019s acquisition of 20th Century Fox and its library in 2019. <\/p>\n<p>As Deadline also <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/05\/x-men-movie-director-jake-schreier-thunderbolts-1236390176\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">reported exclusively<\/a>,  Thunderbolts* director Jake Schreier is leading the effort. She also appeared as Tess DeNunzio in Dear Zoe (2022), Ellie in The Whale (2022) alongside Oscar-winner Brendan Fraser, Mazzy Monroe in A Sacrifice (2024) and in O\u2019Dessa (2025)<\/p>\n<p>Of the gathering ensemble, Sink has said, \u201cI think a great cast is coming together, and I think people are going to be really excited about it when it\u2019s all announced.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"pmc-fallback-list-item-wrap lrv-u-margin-b-2\">\n<p>\tKit Connor as Scott Summers<\/p>\n<p>\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"170\" src=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/wp-content\/plugins\/lazy-load-0.7\/images\/1x1.trans.gif\" class=\"attachment-medium size-medium\" alt=\"\" data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/kit-connor-x-men.png\" data-lazy- data-lazy-\/><br \/>\n\t\t\t\tImage Credit: Getty; Marvel\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2026\/08\/kit-connor-cyclops-x-men-movie-marvel-studios-1237018735\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kit Connor\u2019s<\/a> star has been on the rise since his scene-stealing role in the Netflix series\u00a0Heartstopper, recently reprising the role in a movie spinoff\u00a0Heartstopper Forever. Following that, he caught the eye of director Alex Garland, who cast him in his A24 war film\u00a0Warfare. He will also be in the upcoming adaptation Elden Ring.<\/p>\n<p>Cyclops (AKA Scott Summers) has been one of the cornerstones of the X-Men comics, first appearing in a 1963 effort\u00a0 from Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. The character is the captain of the team of mutants, best known for the powerful beams of energy emitted from his eyes that he controls through a visor or sunglasses. In March, she led\u00a0Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, the sequel to the 2019 hit horror-comedy, stepping back into the role of fierce protagonist Grace MacCaullay. She followed with IFC\u2019s\u00a0Over Your Dead Body, winner of a SXSW Audience Award, which she co-led opposite Jason Segel.<\/p>\n<p>Emma Frost is a telepathic mutant who first showed up in X-Men comics in the 1980s and has evolved over the years, going from supervillain to a key member of the X-Men.
