Explanation: <\/b> <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Moons_of_Saturn\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">How many moons does Saturn have?<\/a><\/p>\n<p>While the total will likely continue to grow,<br \/>\nas of June 2026 the ringed gas giant had<br \/>\n293 confirmed moons.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s easily more<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/ssd.jpl.nasa.gov\/?sat_discovery\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">than any other planet<\/a><br \/>\nof the Solar System, including ruling gas giant<br \/>\nJupiter with a mere 115 confirmed moons.<\/p>\n<p>Most of Saturn&#8217;s known moons are small, irregular satellites.<\/p>\n<p>Many are only few kilometers to a fraction of a kilometer across and<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Moons_of_Saturn#Irregular_moons\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">grouped in<\/a><br \/>\ntilted outer orbits.<\/p>\n<p>Six of its largest satellites can be seen here, though,<br \/>\nin this sharp telescopic<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/app.astrobin.com\/i\/ztmhhp\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Saturnian family portrait<\/a><br \/>\ntaken on August 5.<\/p>\n<p>Larger than Earth&#8217;s Moon and even slightly larger than<br \/>\ninner planet Mercury,<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/solarsystem.nasa.gov\/planets\/profile.cfm?Object=Sat_Titan\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Titan<\/a>,<br \/>\nwith a diameter of 5,150 kilometers, is at lower right.<\/p>\n<p>You can also spot icy major moons<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/apod.nasa.gov\/apod\/ap100511.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mimas<\/a>,<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/apod.nasa.gov\/apod\/ap091208.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tethys<\/a>,<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/apod.nasa.gov\/apod\/ap120208.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Enceladus<\/a>,<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/apod.nasa.gov\/apod\/ap070801.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dione<\/a>, and<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/apod.nasa.gov\/apod\/ap080513.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Rhea<\/a> in the frame.<\/p>\n<p>Saturn&#8217;s first known natural satellite, Titan was<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/apod.nasa.gov\/apod\/ap050325.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">discovered in 1655<\/a> by<br \/>\nDutch astronomer Christiaan Huygens.<\/p>\n<p>During the space age Voyager and<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/science.nasa.gov\/mission\/cassini\/science\/moons\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Cassini discoveries<\/a><br \/>\nhave added to the<br \/>\n<a
