\n\tAlthough Jacob Elordi<\/a> is taking on an iconic movie monster with his latest role, he\u2019s apparently still serving face that could make any townsperson drop their pitchforks and torches.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn Frankenstein<\/a>, which premieres Oct. 17 in select theaters and Nov. 7 on Netflix<\/a>, writer\/director Guillermo Del Toro<\/a> explained that Elordi\u2019s version of the Creature is \u201cstaggeringly beautiful, in an otherworldly way.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe 3x Oscar winner told Entertainment Weekly<\/a> that he didn\u2019t want to give the audience \u201cthe feeling that you were seeing an accident victim that has been patched [together]\u201d haphazardly, noting that the experiment is Dr. Frankenstein\u2019s pride and joy.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cVictor is as much an artist as he is a surgeon, and if he\u2019s been dreaming about this creature for all his life, he\u2019s going to nail it,\u201d added Del Toro. \u201cIt looks like a newborn, alabaster creature. The scars are beautiful and almost aerodynamic.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tDel Toro explained that the Creature\u2019s skin is \u201cfrom different bodies, so it has different colors,\u201d adding: \u201cThe hues are pale but almost translucent. It feels like a newborn soul.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tStarring Oscar Isaac<\/a> as the titular brilliant but egotistical scientist Victor, Frankenstein sees the doctor bring a creature (Elordi) to life with a monstrous experiment that ultimately leads to both of their undoings.<\/p>\n

\n\tDel Toro previously said at a press conference<\/a> for the film\u2019s Venice Film Festival<\/a> world premiere, \u201cIt was a religion for me. Since I was a kid \u2014 I was raised very Catholic \u2014 I never quite understood the saints. And then when I saw Boris Karloff on the screen, I understood what a saint or a messiah looked like.
