However, the government has now clarified that the film will not be released in India.<\/p>\n<p>The official X handle of the Press Information Bureau (PIB) issued a clarification regarding reports that \u2018<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.indiatoday.in\/movies\/bollywood\/story\/abir-gulaal-film-release-worldwide-excluding-india-kashmir-ban-pakistani-artists-2769702-2025-08-11?utm_source=global-search&amp;utm_medium=global-search&amp;utm_campaign=global-search\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Abir Gulaal\u2019 is set for a theatrical release<\/a><\/strong> in India.<\/p>\n<p>The post stated, \u201cIt is being claimed by several media outlets that the film \u201cAabeer Gulaal\u201d starring Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor will release in Indian cinemas on September 26, 2025 (sic).\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, there were growing demands to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.indiatoday.in\/movies\/bollywood\/story\/fawad-khan-abir-gulaal-songs-removed-from-youtube-after-pahalgam-attack-2714886-2025-04-25?utm_source=global-search&amp;utm_medium=global-search&amp;utm_campaign=global-search\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">halt the release of \u2018Abir Gulaal\u2019 in India<\/a><\/strong>. Around the same time, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) reinforced its directive to ban Pakistani artists, urging complete non-cooperation with actors, singers, and technicians from Pakistan in the Indian film and entertainment industry.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Abir Gulaal\u2019 is backed by Indian Stories Production in collaboration with A Richer Lens and Aarjay Pictures.
