Newcastle manager Matthias Jaissle has made a huge admission just 11 days before his side kicks off its new Premier League campaign with a game against Liverpool at St James’ Park\"Newcastle<\/p>\n

Newcastle boss Matthias Jaissle, who took over from Eddie Howe recently, has admitted that his side is a long way off being ready for the start of the new season, with Liverpool’s trip to St James’ Park now little more than a week away.<\/p>\n

Liverpool heads to the North East in the standout fixture of the Premier League’s opening round<\/a> of matches. And while Andoni Iraola’s<\/a> roster still needs work doing to it, the same can be said of several other teams it will face soon.<\/p>\n

“For sure, we cannot be at our peak [against Liverpool], this is clear,” Jaissle admitted after a 3-1 defeat to Everton in pre-season. “We have just been working for a couple of days together, and Liverpool<\/a> is already next week now.<\/p>\n

“We use every day in the best possible way, that\u2019s the only thing we can control to make progress. Then, it will be the same with the transfer market. Hopefully, there will be progress there too.”<\/p>\n

This season’s Premier League is impossible to predict, as so many teams have changed their head coaches. Liverpool and Newcastle are among them.<\/p>\n

After facing Newcastle, Liverpool has Nottingham Forest<\/a>, who swapped Vitor Pereira for Oliver Glasner.<\/p>\n

It then goes to Ipswich, who is now managed by Gary O’Neil after the departure of Kieran McKenna, and hosts Fulham, where Alvaro Arbeloa replaced Marco Silva.<\/p>\n

Before the September international break, Liverpool heads to Bournemouth<\/a>, who moved for Marco Rose when it became clear that Iraola would be moving on.<\/p>\n

Against Everton<\/a> in Scotland, Thierno Barry, Iliman Ndiaye and Tyrique George all scored for David Moyes’ side. Harvey Barnes netted a late consolation but Newcastle faded quickly after a reasonably bright start.<\/p>\n

“We have already spoken about it in the press conference, and I think everybody has seen the matches and are smart enough to see the needs in the squad,” Jaissle said.<\/p>\n
