\n\tFootage for the next Spider-Man<\/a> movie has leaked online, and co-writer and producer Christopher Miller<\/a> isn\u2019t pleased. <\/p>\n

\n\tFour-and-a-half-minutes of footage from Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse<\/a> \u2014 the final film in the hit animated Spider-Verse trilogy \u2014 is making the rounds.<\/p>\n

\n\tMiller took to X <\/a>to condemn the leak: \u201cNot a fan of leaks of unfinished, not fully rendered footage.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBeyond the Spider-Verse isn\u2019t expected in theaters until June 18, 2027. <\/p>\n

\n\tIt\u2019s not clear where the footage is from, but Sony<\/a> showed industry insiders<\/a> and fans a look at the movie at CinemaCon in April. The\u00a0Beyond the Spider-Verse footage appears to be from the new film\u2019s opening scene combined a montage of traditional trailer clips. It picks up where\u00a0the previous film, Across the Spider-Verse,\u00a0left off in a cliffhanger \u2014 with hero Miles Morales tied up by his Earth-42 counterpart and Uncle Aaron.<\/p>\n

\n\tSony Pictures had no immediate comment. <\/p>\n

\n\tSome fans who saw the footage largely shrugged off Miller\u2019s protest. \u201cLooks good so far tho, if THAT was unfinished, imagine the finished version,\u201d wrote one. <\/p>\n

\n\tBeyond the Spider-Verse is from writer-producers Phil Lord and Miller (who wrote the script along with David Callaham) and directors Justin K. Thompson and Bob Persichetti. At CinemaCon, Miller promised it was \u201cthe most emotional\u00a0Spider-Verse\u00a0film we have ever made\u201d and Lord dubbed it the \u201cmost spectacular.\u201d Shameik Moore stars at the voice of Miles, the Brooklyn teen Spider-Man and Hailee Steinfeld is Spider-Gwen.<\/p>\n

\n\tAcross the Spider-Verse grossed more than $690 million in 2023. The franchise launched with 2018\u2019s\u00a0Into the Spider-Verse, which won the Oscar for best animated feature and was credited with pushing the animation genre into new, more experimental directions.<\/p>\n
