NSYNC\u2019s Joey Fatone has shared why he thinks the boy band won\u2019t reunite anytime soon.<\/p>\n

Fatone was an original member of the group<\/a> \u2014 which was one of the most popular boy bands of the 1990s and 2000s, selling over 70 million records \u2014 alongside Justin Timberlake<\/a>, J.C. Chasez, Jason Galasso and Chris Kirkpatrick. Galasso left the band<\/a> and was replaced by Lance Bass in 1995.<\/p>\n

Fatone, 49, appeared alongside band member Bass on SiriusXM Friday, explaining that they are all at different stages <\/a>in their personal lives.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll of us have to be on the same page, which we are not, and that\u2019s not a negative thing,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Fatone has two older daughters, aged 16 and 25, but his former bandmates have much younger children.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have two daughters, 25 and 16. I\u2019m ready to party and have a great time,\u201d he said. \u201c[Bass has] got young kids. Justin\u2018s got young kids. Chris has a young child.\u201d<\/p>\n

He then joked that Chasez \u201cis the smartest one\u201d because \u201che has a dog, no kids.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fatone reflected on the difficulty of balancing parenting with touring, saying: \u201cWhen I was young, when I was 23 years old, touring with NSYNC<\/a>, I had my child, and it wasn\u2019t easy.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSo I can only imagine if the three of them were to go on tour with multiple [kids]\u2026Yes, it would be fun. Yes, it would be great. But then you have your spouses and your other people saying, \u2018You need to come home because I need your ass here, because you need to help me with this, this, this, this, this, this.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s very tough,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

The singer also said that by the time he had his second daughter, the band was no longer together<\/a>, and he was able to spend more time with his family.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo I would never take those years away from them,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd that is the honest truth for me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bass said in the interview that one way around this issue was to \u201cdo a summer tour and bring them on the road.\u201d<\/p>\n

While the band has fielded reunion rumors over the years, they last performed together in 2024 when they reunited for one of Timberlake\u2019s one-night-only shows to promote his album Everything I Thought It Was.<\/p>\n

The group made another surprise appearance together in 2023, when they arrived at the MTV VMAs to present the award for Best Pop Video award to Taylor Swift for her song \u201cAnti Hero.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

At the time, Swift was overjoyed by the reunion, and said to the former bandmates: \u201cWhat are you doing now? Are you doing something?\u201d She asked the group. \u201cThey\u2019re gonna do something and I need to know what it is! You\u2019re pop personified.\u201d<\/p>\n

That year, the group recorded their first song together in over 20 years <\/a>for the animated kids movie Trolls Band Together.<\/p>\n
