{"id":63763,"date":"2025-09-14T15:38:09","date_gmt":"2025-09-14T15:38:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/63763\/"},"modified":"2025-09-14T15:38:09","modified_gmt":"2025-09-14T15:38:09","slug":"man-escorted-from-st-eunans-cathedral-following-disturbance-at-mass","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/63763\/","title":{"rendered":"Man escorted from St Eunan&#8217;s Cathedral following disturbance at mass"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>A man had to be escorted from St Eunan\u2019s Cathedral in Letterkenny this morning following a disturbance at 8am mass.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The man began talking to parishoners during the mass and walking around the cathedral as mass was being said.<\/p>\n<p>The man, who was in his 30s, then took a number of collection plates and threw them about.<\/p>\n<p>The man was later escorted from the cathedral.<\/p>\n<p>One mass-goer said it was a confusing incident but also quite frightening.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNobody really knew what was going on,\u201d they said<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI had seen him earlier during the mass just walking about and staring at the priest.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut after the collections, he picked up a number of baskets and flung them about.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was (saying something) but I could not hear what he was saying.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was frightening.
