It’s pretty straightforward in its approach compared with many AV world product promotions, involving simple discounting of all the products covered by the promotion rather than you needing to, say, buy the products first and then claim cash back against your purchase.

This simple point of sale discounting approach means, of course, that you don’t actually have to be a student or even the parent of a student to take advantage of the promotion pricing. You’re not going to be asked to show proof of your circumstances or anything like that.

Looking through the list of models included in the price-cutting promotion, the most eye-catching deal is clearly the $600 off the 49-inch Odyssey OLED G9, bringing its price down to $1,099. As well as being huge, this Odyssey display deploys a curved screen to make gaming more immersive and create a more personal productivity space. It also uses an OLED rather than LCD panel to deliver faster gaming response times and more natural, sharpness-enhancing contrast. A screen this big is a great space for working with multiple documents open at once too, of course.

The 27-inch OLED G5 gaming monitor is down to just $349.54 under Samsung’s current back to school promotion.

Photo: Samsung

Play Puzzles & Games on Forbes

The G9 even carries integrated Smart TV apps and smart home features, making it easy to find a wide range of content from streaming sources and connected devices.

Another stand out on Samsung’s discounted monitor list is the 27-inch Odyssey OLED G6 (G61SH). This one is built on one of Samsung’s home-grown Quantum Dot OLED panels, which joins forces with a high (for such a smallish screen) QHD resolution and high dynamic range support to deliver outstanding contrast and color. Targeted at gamers, it also supports 240Hz refresh rates, a 0.03ms response time, and the FreeSync Premium variable refresh rate system. The Odyssey 27G61SH is getting $200 knocked off for the back-to-school promotion, bringing its price down to just $399.99.

There’s $150.45 off the step down 27-inch Odyssey OLED G5 (G50SF) too, bringing it down to $349.54. This monitor again uses Samsung’s QD OLED technology, with its ultra-pure RGB colour reproduction, as well as delivering Pantone Validated colour accuracy, QHD resolution, and a “glare free” filter on its screen to absorb onscreen reflections. Plus, in keeping with its gaming focus, it supports NVidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync VRR, as well as 180Hz refresh rates.

If you’re looking for a more flexible, multipurpose lifestyle monitor option, Samsung’s 32-inch The Movingstyle Essential is getting its price cut for the promotional period from $699 to $579.99. This monitor ships with a full floor stand short with wheels on it so that you can roll the screen around to different rooms in your house.

You can also detach the screen from its mount to use it on a table or desk in a more traditional monitor way, and as a more multi-purpose monitor than the game-focused 27G61SH and 27G50SF, it comes equipped with built-in smart TV apps including all the main global streaming services.

This means you could use it to, say, show a recipe while it’s sitting in the kitchen, before wheeling it into the living room where you could use it show an exercise video to help you work out, or access a health management app on it. Or, given the back to school focus of this promotion, students could use it to wrap up an assignment before using to it to wind down with a console or PC gaming session.

The full range of deals in Samsung’s monitor promotion looks like this:

* 27-inch Odyssey OLED G50SF: Promo price $349.54 (saving $150.45)

* 32-inch The Movingstyle Essential: Promo price $579.99 (saving $120).

* 49 Odyssey OLED G9 (G93SD): Promo price $1,099.99 (saving $600).

* 34-inch ViewFinity S5 (LS34C502): Promo price $229.99 (saving $100).

* 27-inch ViewFinity S7 (S70H): Promo price $229.99 (saving $70).

* 27-inch S39GD Series with curved full HD screen and 100Hz refresh rate support: Promo price $149.99 (saving $50).

* 27-inch Odyssey OLED G6 (G61SH): Promo price $399.99 (saving $200).

* 27-inch Essential S3 (S36GD): Promo price $119.99 (saving $60).

—

Related Reading

Samsung Confirms New HDR10+ Advanced Format Will Go Live On Prime Video This Month

The 2026 Value Electronics TV Shootout Results Are In—And It’s Great News For Samsung

The Samsung The Movingstyle Essential is being discounted to $579.99 until Labor Day 2026.
