{"id":638570,"date":"2026-08-15T11:49:14","date_gmt":"2026-08-15T11:49:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/638570\/"},"modified":"2026-08-15T11:49:14","modified_gmt":"2026-08-15T11:49:14","slug":"belfast-hotels-already-charging-more-than-double-for-fleadh-2027-rooms-the-irish-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/638570\/","title":{"rendered":"Belfast hotels already charging more than double for Fleadh 2027 rooms \u2013 The Irish News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Some <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishnews.com\/tags\/belfast\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishnews.com\/tags\/belfast\">Belfast<\/a> hotels are already selling rooms for next year\u2019s Fleadh at more than double their normal price, it has emerged.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The Irish News found rooms at four separate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishnews.com\/tags\/hotel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishnews.com\/tags\/hotel\">hotel<\/a> chains priced at between 43 percent and 107 percent more for Fleadh week 2027 than for the week beforehand.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">A double room at the ibis Belfast Queens Quarter rises from \u00a3743.19 for the last week of July to \u00a31,541.34 during the week of the Fleadh &#8211; an increase of 107 percent.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">At the Ramada by Wyndham Belfast in the Cathedral Quarter, a Standard Double rises from \u00a31,185.03 to \u00a31,963.01, up 66 percent. <\/p>\n<p><a class=\"c-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.irishnews.com\/news\/northern-ireland\/queen-elizabeth-abhorred-ian-paisley-says-former-irish-president-mary-mcaleese-EHJ46RA4NBHA7NGWGWQZH4Z5T4\/\" aria-hidden=\"true\" tabindex=\"-1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\" alt=\"Queen Elizabeth &#x2018;abhorred&#x2019; Ian Paisley, says former Irish president Mary McAleese\" class=\"c-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/LYZCZXHSIBCBBH2BLK5FWPJUGM.jpeg\"  width=\"800\" height=\"450\"\/><\/a><a class=\"c-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.irishnews.com\/news\/northern-ireland\/belfast-hotels-already-charging-more-than-double-for-fleadh-2027-rooms-YG7VYNKJTVG6XESEI563F3PVBU\/\" aria-hidden=\"true\" tabindex=\"-1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\" alt=\"Belfast hotels already charging more than double for Fleadh 2027 rooms\" class=\"c-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/VDE2ERVGPFBKRHF6WZFGMZS5TE.jpeg\"  width=\"800\" height=\"450\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The hotel\u2019s Standard Room with two double beds rises 93 percent, from \u00a31,435 to \u00a32,762.97.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">At the Hilton Belfast, the same King Guest Room costs \u00a31,097.95 one week and \u00a32,030.28 the next.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">At Premier Inn Belfast Titanic Quarter, the only room type currently on sale for Fleadh week is the upgraded Premier Plus room, at \u00a31,817. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The same room costs \u00a31,271 the week before, a rise of 43 percent. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The hotel\u2019s cheaper standard rooms are no longer showing as available for the week of the Fleadh.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The all-Ireland Fleadh returns to Belfast from 1 to 8 August 2027. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The figures obtained by the Irish News were taken directly from the hotel operators\u2019 own booking systems and compare seven nights for two adults during Fleadh week against the same stay a week earlier, from 25 July to 1 August.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">It is estimated 1.65 million people came into the city for the 2026 Fleadh earlier this month, more than double the 800,000 that had been forecast.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">In April, The Irish News reported that short-term let owners were seeking almost \u00a36,000 to rent Belfast properties for the 2026 Fleadh, roughly double their normal rates. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">A Belfast City Council spokesperson said: \u201cFleadh Cheoil 2027 presents another significant opportunity to showcase Belfast on a world stage and to build on that success. We recognise that accommodation availability and affordability are important considerations for families and visitors planning their trip.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cBelfast offers a wide range of accommodation options across the city region, from camping and motorhome facilities, student accommodation and serviced apartments through to budget, mid-range and five-star hotels. August is also traditionally one of the busiest periods of the year for Belfast\u2019s tourism and hospitality sector, with strong demand for accommodation, independent of the Fleadh.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cAs we plan for next summer\u2019s event, we will continue to work closely with our tourism partners, accommodation providers and other stakeholders to promote the broadest possible range of accommodation options and to encourage visitors to plan and book early. We will also reinforce the importance of fair and responsible pricing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cUltimately, competitive and fair pricing benefits both visitors and the local economy.
