The Bitcoin price has stopped falling, which is why people are asking whether the bottom is in. <\/p>\n So we asked ChatGPT, Claude and Grok whether Bitcoin is a buy at $63,900, and where they think BTC might bottom. <\/p>\n The three AI models called the Bitcoin price a buy for long-term holders. However, they refused to call buying at the current price a low-risk trade. ChatGPT argued the risk and reward are better at $63,900 than they were at $100,000 or $126,000, since Bitcoin only needs to reach its all-time high of $126,000 to double your money.\u00a0 <\/p>\n The AI model also noted that Bitcoin has not rallied even with US stocks near record highs, which usually means buyers are staying away. PCE inflation hit 4.1% in June, which ended hopes of rate cuts and sent money into AI stocks instead. ETF inflows have also shrunk all year, and traders holding Bitcoin on leverage were forced to sell as prices fell, which pushed the Bitcoin price down further. So Claude sees this as a normal market cycle, since nothing catastrophic has hit the market this time, unlike the U.S. and Iran conflict that added selling pressure back in February. <\/p>\n Lastly, Grok looked at Bitcoin’s realized price, which is the average price every coin in circulation last changed hands at. That figure is $52,000 to $53,000, so at $63,900 the average holder is still up 22% on their BTC. Grok reads that as a market where people are still buying rather than dumping their coins. <\/p>\n All three models also agreed on how to buy. Each one preferred dollar-cost averaging over putting everything in at once, which means buying a fixed amount every week or month, so a further drop lowers the average price you paid instead of trapping you at one entry. Bitcoin has fallen more than 50% ten times and recovered every time, though BlackRock’s research found three of the four drawdowns this deep since 2014 took close to three years to reach a new all-time high. <\/p>\n Why the AI Models Still Won’t Call $63,900 the Bottom None of the AI models would call the current Bitcoin price the bottom. ChatGPT stated “$63K can be a good price without being the bottom.” ChatGPT’s downside is $50,000 or $45,000, which is a 22% to 30% drop, if ETF outflows return for several months running.\u00a0 <\/p>\n Grok modelled a full cycle low of $35,000 to $50,000 if high interest rates last long enough. Claude was the most bearish with a $30,000 call, which is 53% below today’s price and what a repeat of the 2022 bear market would produce. <\/p>\n However, all three calls are milder than any previous cycle. Bitcoin’s bear markets ended 93% down in 2011, 86% in 2015, 84% in 2018 and 77% in 2022. Measured against the $126,000 peak, the models’ $30,000 to $50,000 range is a 60% to 76% fall, so even Claude’s worst case stops short of the 2022 low. <\/p>\n Bitcoin currently trades 53.5% below that peak, making this the shallowest cycle decline it has ever had. Grok argued institutional ownership has cushioned the fall, while Claude used the same number to argue the opposite, since a shallower fall could just mean there is room left below. <\/p>\n ChatGPT and Claude both named $58,000 to $60,000 as the level that would change their minds. Grok chose Bitcoin’s realized price of $52,000 to $53,000, because below that the average holder is underwater, which is where people could historically start selling in bulk. Bitcoin fell just under $58,000 in June, so two of the three models are watching a level Bitcoin has already reached this year. <\/p>\n Bitcoin’s Recovery Depends on Institutions Coming Back When asked anything that poses a risk to Bitcoin’s recovery, none of the AI models mentioned the price. Each model pointed to the same shortcoming, which is that the institutional buyers who drove the last rally never come back. <\/p>\n ChatGPT argued the money that once flowed into crypto is now going into AI stocks instead. Claude pointed to Bitcoin’s correlation with the Nasdaq, which is running around 0.78, so institutions are treating the Bitcoin price as a risk asset rather than a hedge. That means Bitcoin needs interest rates to fall before it recovers, no matter how many people adopt it. <\/p>\n Meanwhile, Grok expects Bitcoin ETF outflows to keep accelerating, which removes the demand that has supported Bitcoin since the funds launched in 2024. The AI models pointed to the same bright spot, since spot Bitcoin ETFs took in $853.54 million in the week to August 7, their strongest week since April, with BlackRock’s IBIT accounting for $693 million of it. <\/p>\n However, none of them mentioned what those funds have lost this year. There’s still around $4.5 billion in net outflows for 2026, so August’s inflow replaces less than a fifth of it. When Bitcoin climbed from $75,000 to $126,000 last year, weekly inflows passed $1 billion again and again. <\/p>\n Should You Buy Bitcoin at $63,900? <\/p>\n Bitcoin looks like a reasonable buy at $63,900 if you plan to hold for the long-term, say three years or more. The AI models agreed the risk and reward are better at this price than they were at $100,000, but every one of them said Bitcoin could still fall further. <\/p>\n However, the models work from the same public data everyone else has. All three treated one good ETF week as evidence the institutional buyers were back, when those funds are still $4.5 billion down for the year. <\/p>\n Bitcoin has recovered from every drawdown this deep, but BlackRock found that three of the four falls of 50% or more since 2014 took close to three years to reach a new all-time high.
