He was 86.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/entertainment\/celebrities\/2022\/08\/31\/monkees-micky-dolenz-lawsuit-fbi-files\/7948301001\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Monkees&#8217;<\/a> official account confirmed the news <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/TheMonkees\/posts\/very-sad-news-to-report-bobby-hart-the-songwriting-dynamo-who-was-half-of-the-du\/1358226252331174\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">on social media<\/a>: &#8220;He will be remembered for his incredible talent and his innate spirituality,&#8221; the band wrote. &#8220;You will be so missed, Bobby.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Alongside Tommy Boyce, Hart was one half of the songwriting duo Boyce and Hart. The pair penned tracks that would become synonymous with the Monkees&#8217; sound, like &#8220;Last Train to Clarksville,&#8221; &#8220;(I&#8217;m Not Your) Stepping Stone,&#8221; and the theme song for the made-for-television group with its trademark jingle &#8220;Hey, hey, we&#8217;re the Monkees.&#8221; As a solo songwriter, Hart wrote hits like &#8220;Hurts So Bad&#8221; by Little Anthony &amp; The Imperials.<\/p>\n<p>Hart had been in poor health since breaking his hip last year, and <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/bobby-hart-dead-86-monkees-b1fdf152699443429d21360d5a3d95fb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">died at his home<\/a> in Los Angeles, the Associated Press reported.<\/p>\n<p>Monkees fanbase mourns Bobby Hart<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/entertainment\/music\/2022\/10\/19\/micky-dolenz-monkees-interview-2022\/10540516002\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Micky Dolenz<\/a>, the last surviving member of the Monkees, posted another tribute on his personal account: &#8220;Another great is gone,&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DOkKQstEWLq\/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">he wrote.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Bobby Hart, who along with Tommy Boyce, penned and produced some of The Monkees&#8217; greatest hits not only made a vital contribution to the popular success of The Monkees, but even more importantly to the essence, the very spirit of the entire venture,&#8221; Dolenz wrote. &#8220;His talent, charisma, good humor and calmness in the face of what at times was nothing less than a maniacal roller coaster ride often brought a sense of peace that heartened everyone around him. He was the stillness that is the eye of the hurricane.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Outside of the Monkees, Boyce and Hart had a successful career as recording artists themselves. Between 1967 and 1969, they released three albums: &#8220;Test Patterns,&#8221; &#8220;I Wonder What She&#8217;s Doing Tonite?&#8221; and &#8220;It&#8217;s All Happening On The Inside.&#8221; In 1976, they reunited with Monkees&#8217; bandmates Davy Jones and Dolenz for the album &#8220;Dolenz, Jones, Boyce &amp; Hart.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Boyce and Hart were the subject of <a href=\"https:\/\/grammymuseum.org\/event\/reel-to-reel-the-guys-who-wrote-em\/#:~:text=The%20Guys%20Who%20Wrote%20&#039;Em%20is%20the%20documentary%20that%20tells,to%20change%20the%20U.S.%20Constitution.\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;The Guys Who Wrote &#8216;Em,&#8221;<\/a> a 2014 documentary about Boyce and Hart&#8217;s musical and political contributions \u2212 they wrote the 1969 song <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehenryford.org\/collections-and-research\/digital-collections\/artifact\/510839\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;L.U.V.
