explains Dr Guttmann.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">There are two primary forms of cholesterol: low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and high-density lipoprotein (HDL).<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">&#8220;LDL is often called &#8216;bad&#8217; cholesterol because high levels can lead to plaque build-up in arteries, increasing the risk of <a aria-label=\"heart diseaseLink opens in a new tab.\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.irishmirror.ie\/all-about\/heart-disease\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"_blank\">heart disease<\/a>,&#8221;
