It was suggested <a href=\"https:\/\/www.football365.com\/tag\/rodri\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Rodri<\/strong><\/a> wanted to leave this summer, with a return to Spain his priority.<\/p>\n<p>Real Madrid were the main club interested, but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.football365.com\/manchester-city\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>City<\/strong><\/a> sounded out other clubs \u2013 Barcelona among them \u2013 and the midfielder decided he wanted to join the LaLiga champions.<\/p>\n<p>But Barca struggled to convince City to sell for some time \u2013 a derisory first bid of \u20ac45million (\u00a338.5m) was immediately knocked back, and two more failed soon after.<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, the Spanish giants have finally made their breakthrough, with an entire package of \u20ac76.5million (\u00a365.4million) revealed by our friends at <a rel=\"noopener nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.teamtalk.com\/manchester-city\/rodri-done-citizens-accept-fourth-barcelona-offer\" target=\"_blank\">TEAMtalk<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A number of other transfer insiders have also confirmed the news that Rodri will be joining Barca.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Insiders confirm Rodri transfer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>David Ornstein wrote for <a rel=\"noopener nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/7498877\/2026\/08\/16\/barcelona-rodri-transfer-man-city\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Athletic<\/a>: \u2018City will receive an upfront fee of \u20ac60million (\u00a351.2m;
