{"id":641760,"date":"2026-08-17T12:39:24","date_gmt":"2026-08-17T12:39:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/641760\/"},"modified":"2026-08-17T12:39:24","modified_gmt":"2026-08-17T12:39:24","slug":"should-concertgoers-who-arrive-late-be-fined-%c2%b7-thejournal-ie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/641760\/","title":{"rendered":"Should concertgoers who arrive late be fined? \u00b7 TheJournal.ie"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A UK-BASED EVENT promoter has introduced fines for people who arrive late to gigs.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ornc.org\/labyrinth-faqs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Labyrinth Events says<\/a> that under its policy, customers need to check their tickets in advance of events for an \u201callocated arrival time\u201d, with latecomers charged an additional fee for each time slot they miss.<\/p>\n<p>It appears that the company is strictly enforcing the measure, with two separate Moby fans reporting that they were charged <a href=\"https:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/news\/2026\/08\/16\/fans-fined-for-being-late-to-concerts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">late-entry fees of up to \u00a330 (\u20ac35) each at the musician\u2019s performance in Greenwich over the weekend.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>While Moby is due to perform at Dublin\u2019s IMMA later this week, that gig is not being held or promoted by Labyrinth Events \u2013 meaning fans who arrive late will not be faced with any surprise charges at the gates.<\/p>\n<p>That said, it got us wondering if a similar policy would be considered by events companies in Ireland.<\/p>\n<p>Tell us: <strong>Do you think concertgoers who arrive late should be fined?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\n  Poll Results:<\/p>\n<p>Not sure \/ No opinion (172)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A UK-BASED EVENT promoter has introduced fines for people who arrive late to gigs.
