Fresh off performing at the MTV Video Music Awards<\/a>, longtime pop sensation Ricky Martin has listed his massive Upper East Side home for $6.45 million \u2014 down from its initial $8.4 million ask nearly a decade ago, Gimme Shelter has learned.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Beyond bringing the home to market, Martin has enjoyed a rather good week. On Sept. 7, the \u201cLivin\u2019 La Vida Loca\u201d star was handed MTV\u2019s first-ever Latin Icon Award by his pal Jessica Simpson.<\/p>\n

At the New York ceremony, Martin, 53, dedicated the award to his kids. He has 17-year-old twins\u00a0Matteo and Valentino \u2014 he had them as a single dad via a surrogate \u2014 and daughter Lucia, 6, and son Renn, 5, who were also both born via a surrogate with his then-husband, Jwan Yosef.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The dwelling has space aplenty for entertaining \u2014 and for natural light to flow through. Compass<\/p>\n

As for the home, Martin purchased the full-floor, four-bedroom spread at 170 East End Ave. for $5.9 million in 2012.\u00a0He also owns a mid-century mansion in Beverly Hills.<\/p>\n

Martin\u2019s New York nest \u2014 in a luxury building designed by Peter Marino overlooking Carl Schurz Park by the East River \u2014 is 3,147 square feet.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It opens to a large foyer that leads to living and dining area, with 10-foot-high floor-to-ceiling windows. There\u2019s also a windowed chef\u2019s kitchen, with custom cabinetry by Marino.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A fifth room currently can function as a study, a library, a nursery or a media room, the listing notes. There\u2019s also a secondary service entrance that opens to a mud room.<\/p>\n

Building amenities include a gym with Pilates and yoga studios, a squash court, a children\u2019s playroom and an oak-paneled library. Outside, there\u2019s a landscaped courtyard with a waterfall and on-site parking.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The listing brokers are Michael J.
