Alligator attacks: Florida wildlife officials urge residents, visitors to stay alert<\/p>\n

Experts from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission join WESH 2 with a warning to remain cautious as alligator sightings and attacks increase during the summer.<\/p>\n

Alligator sightings and attacks are on the rise in Florida this summer, with experts urging residents and visitors to stay vigilant. <\/p>\n

Chad Weber, with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), joined WESH 2 following a series of alligator attacks, including one fatal incident. <\/p>\n

Weber explained what people should do if they spot an alligator near their home or in their neighborhood. <\/p>\n

He advised contacting the FWC at 888-404-3922 or by contacting the agency\u2019s toll-free Nuisance Alligator Hotline at 866-392-4286. <\/p>\n

Weber also addressed the importance of not feeding alligators, which is illegal in Florida. <\/p>\n
