There wasn’t a dry eye across Ireland<\/a> after the Westmeath Rose left the audience completely moved by sharing her personal journey with alopecia.<\/a><\/p>\n

The Rose of <\/a>Tralee<\/a> got under way on Monday, with viewers getting their first glimpse of the talented young women vying for the coveted 2026 title.<\/p>\n

However, one contestant in particular captured hearts, as she courageously opened up to the crowd by showcasing her wig collection.<\/p>\n

Caoilfhinn N\u00ed Choiligh, 25, was first diagnosed with alopecia areata when she was just 15 years old. Following her hair loss, she became a passionate advocate for the autoimmune condition, going on to found The Hair Loss Haven, while also training to become a wig maker.<\/p>\n

The inspiring young woman, who says she makes a point of appreciating life’s smaller moments, expressed her desire for others experiencing hair loss to feel both supported and seen, reports RSVP Live<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“These are my favourite wigs. I like to swap it up. A pro to having my hair loss, I try to look on the bright side, like I can change my hair whenever I want.”<\/p>\n

She told Kathryn Thomas that she had no interest in being pitied, before making her way over to a table where three wigs had been carefully laid out.<\/p>\n

The crowd at the Kerry<\/a> Sports Academy burst into rapturous applause as Caoilfhinn confidently removed her dark brown wig, switching to a blonde one to the delight of the audience.<\/p>\n

“Embrace the imperfections,” she declared, as she was rewarded with a well-deserved standing ovation. The Rose Selection programme will broadcast on Monday, August 17, and Tuesday, August 18, from 8pm, pausing for the Nine O’Clock News before continuing at 9:35pm, live on RT\u00c9 One and RT\u00c9 Player.<\/p>\n

Viewers both in Ireland and across the globe will be able to watch it completely free of charge, both live and on demand, via RT\u00c9 Player.<\/p>\n
