Howard Stern\u2019s SiriusXM footprint could be getting smaller as the longtime satellite radio personality reportedly scales back his schedule and the company considers eliminating his second channel.<\/p>\n

Stern currently anchors Howard 100 and Howard 101 on SiriusXM. Multiple reports indicate SiriusXM is \u201cparting ways\u201d with Howard 101, which primarily carries archived Stern programming, interviews and specials. The channel originally featured programs selected by Stern, including \u201cBubba the Love Sponge\u201d and sports talker Scott Ferrall, before evolving into an outlet for Stern archives and supplemental programming.<\/p>\n

The potential channel change follows two rounds of layoffs involving roughly 50 employees associated with \u201cThe Howard Stern Show\u201d and its SiriusXM channels. According to reports, many of those affected worked primarily on Howard 101.<\/p>\n

Stern is also reportedly reducing his live schedule<\/a> from two days per week to one. The move would further reduce the need for a dedicated second channel, with Howard 100 able to fill its schedule with archived shows, interviews and clips.<\/p>\n

Rahsaan Rogers, a longtime member of Stern\u2019s operation who hosted \u201cThe Howard Stern Wrap-Up Show\u201d and \u201cSternthology Live,\u201d was among those who recently announced his departure. Rogers spent 16 years with \u201cThe Howard Stern Show\u201d and also produced specials built from the program\u2019s extensive archive.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter 16 incredible years with The Howard Stern Show and the Howard Stern Channels, I\u2019m opening a new chapter,\u201d Rogers wrote on LinkedIn<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Rogers cited his experience hosting \u201cThe Howard Stern Wrap-Up Show,\u201d \u201cSternthology Live\u201d and \u201cSummer School,\u201d as well as producing archival specials, among his career highlights.<\/p>\n

The staffing reductions and potential Howard 101 shutdown come as questions grow about Stern\u2019s longer-term future with SiriusXM. Stern signed a new three-year contract with the company in December 2025, extending his deal through 2028.<\/p>\n

However, a report from The U.S. Sun<\/a> suggests Stern could leave SiriusXM when that agreement expires. An unnamed source told the publication that the show has become unsustainable at its current scale and that reducing Stern\u2019s schedule to one live show a week is evidence that the franchise is winding down.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is so much content Howard wasn’t getting to because he was only doing two days a week,\u201d the source said. \u201cNow that it’s going down to one, it’s clear it’s all just winding down.\u201d<\/p>\n

The reports have also fueled speculation about whether Howard 101 will survive through the remainder of Stern\u2019s contract. A separate report cited an unnamed source saying Stern has accepted the need to reduce his workload but remains unhappy about the possibility of losing the second channel.<\/p>\n

Stern\u2019s SiriusXM run began in 2006 after his departure from terrestrial radio. Over the years, the company has built an extensive audio ecosystem around the host, including live shows, original programs, archives and special content.<\/p>\n

For now, Stern remains under contract with SiriusXM through 2028.
