The Red &amp; Black has compiled a list of concerts for the week ahead, including Ritmos y Ra\u00edces Dance Weekender, Goth Night and Futurebirds.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>hey, nothing<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Who:<\/strong> hey, nothing is an Athens-based band with pop-punk and indie-folk elements. They will be hosting a release party for their second album, \u201cHound,\u201d which drops Friday, Aug. 21.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Where:<\/strong> Flicker Theatre &amp; Bar<\/p>\n<p><strong>When:<\/strong> Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show begins at 8 p.m.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Price:<\/strong> $17<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Futurebirds<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Who:<\/strong> Since their start as UGA students years ago, Futurebirds has captivated listeners with country rock, Americana and folk\u2014with inspirations from psychedelic rock and jam bands. To celebrate their 15th anniversary, the band will return to Athens for a two-night stay to play classics and preview their new two-volume album, \u201cFar Out Country I &amp; II.\u201d As of writing, Friday\u2019s show has sold out.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Where:<\/strong> Georgia Theatre, 215 N. Lumpkin St.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>When:<\/strong> Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show begins at 8 p.m. both nights.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Price:<\/strong> Tickets for Thursday\u2019s concert start at $37 and can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axs.com\/events\/1434016\/futurebirds-far-out-country-tour-tickets?_gl=1*mpp1m3*_gcl_au*NTU4MTEyMTE2LjE3ODY5ODc3Mzg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Ritmos y Ra\u00edces Athens Dance Weekender<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Who:<\/strong> UGA school departments such as the Latin American and Caribbean Studies Institute, the Department of Dance and more have teamed up for the second annual Ritmos y Ra\u00edces. Working with TIMBAthens, a nonprofit dance organization, a full weekend of activities will be offered, starting on Friday with a \u201cWelcome Party\u201d at Athentic Brewing Company. Saturday begins with a morning of workshops, concluding with a headlining concert event at Live Wire Athens. Sunday morning finishes off the weekend with more workshops. The entire weekend offers priced passes for each day or for the event as a whole. A vast assortment of dancers, dance teachers, performers and live music artists will appear at the various events.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Where:<\/strong> Various locations around Athens.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>When:<\/strong> 8 p.m. on Friday. DJ\u2019s Crowe, Tomb Lily and Goth Dad will return to play alongside Twin Powers, member of DJ trio Booty Boyz.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Where:<\/strong> Cin\u00e9, 234 W. Hancock Ave.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>When:<\/strong> Doors open at 9 p.m. and the show begins at 9:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Price:<\/strong> $10<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Rock the Ark Summer Bash<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Who:<\/strong> Creature Comforts\u2019 Ark has created a Summer of Stability Fund intended to raise money for low-income working families around Athens. To help raise money, they are hosting a summer bash with performances from Karma Kat, Florence Cardigan and Cannon Rogers. The event will also host a silent auction, drinks and raffles.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Where:<\/strong> Creature Comforts Brewery, 271 W. Hancock Ave.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>When:<\/strong> Doors open at 5 p.m. and the music begins at 5:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Price:<\/strong> Free<\/p>\n<p><strong>Happy Landing, The Band Solstice<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Who:<\/strong> Happy Landing is a band from Oxford, Mississippi with a focus on mixing folk, southern rock and punk. They will take the stage to celebrate the release of their second album, \u201cBig Sun.\u201d The Band Solstice is from Knoxville, Tennessee and combines indie rock with folk rock.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Where:<\/strong> 40 Watt Club, 285 W. Washington St.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>When:<\/strong> Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show begins at 8 p.m.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Price:<\/strong> $16 in advance, $20 at the door. He will be performing two shows for the Segar Jazz Affair and Aubrey Entertainment, with breaks in between each.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Where:<\/strong> Hendershot\u2019s, 237 Prince Ave.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>When:<\/strong> Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The first show begins at 7:30 p.m. and the second at 8:45 p.m.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Price:<\/strong> $20 in advance, $25 at the door.
