{"id":646445,"date":"2026-08-20T01:32:20","date_gmt":"2026-08-20T01:32:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/646445\/"},"modified":"2026-08-20T01:32:20","modified_gmt":"2026-08-20T01:32:20","slug":"photographer-captures-dramatic-moment-goslings-take-25-foot-leap-of-faith-from-nest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/646445\/","title":{"rendered":"Photographer Captures Dramatic Moment Goslings Take 25 Foot Leap Of Faith From Nest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-element-index=\"0\">Every spring at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fws.gov\/refuge\/julia-butler-hansen-columbian-white-tailed-deer\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Julia Butler Hansen Refuge for the Columbian White-Tailed Deer<\/a>, newborn goslings follow their parents&#8217; lead and bravely leap from their nests, catapulting themselves into the world.<\/p>\n<p data-element-index=\"1\">Last year, refuge manager and photography hobbyist Jake Bonello snapped a few photos of six goslings taking their first flight \u2014 and the results were spectacular.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/1787189538_807_scale;webp=auto;jpeg_quality=60.jpg\"  alt=\"gosling leaping from nest \" width=\"792\" height=\"558\" style=\"display:block;height:auto;aspect-ratio:792 \/ 558\" loading=\"lazy\"\/>Jake Bonello\/USFWS<\/p>\n<p data-element-index=\"0\">\u201cThese Canada goose goslings had no choice but to commit,\u201d the U.S. Department of the Interior <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/USInterior\/posts\/pfbid0T4k4NbreuBDpYfbhKEvZvMvK6s8bsV7Kdqi4TjcPC7D31PJS3ixJ1j9UwYumbAgjl\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">recently wrote in a Facebook post<\/a>. \u201cTaking a 25-foot leap from their nest platform to join their parents below.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/1787189538_775_scale;webp=auto;jpeg_quality=60.jpg\"  alt=\"gosling leaping through the air \" width=\"792\" height=\"922\" style=\"display:block;height:auto;aspect-ratio:792 \/ 922\" loading=\"lazy\"\/>Jake Bonello\/USFWS<\/p>\n<p data-element-index=\"0\">According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/wdfw.wa.gov\/species-habitats\/species\/branta-canadensis#living\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife<\/a>, goslings are born in clutches of around six, hatching after an incubation period of about 25 days.
