{"id":647516,"date":"2026-08-20T16:14:15","date_gmt":"2026-08-20T16:14:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/647516\/"},"modified":"2026-08-20T16:14:15","modified_gmt":"2026-08-20T16:14:15","slug":"irish-rail-commuters-face-long-delays-after-signalling-failure-in-dublin-the-irish-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/647516\/","title":{"rendered":"Irish Rail commuters face long delays after signalling failure in Dublin \u2013 The Irish Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/irish-rail\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/irish-rail\/\">Irish Rail<\/a> has said a \u201cbig signalling issue\u201d in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/dublin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/dublin\/\">Dublin<\/a> caused significant delays across its rail network in the early afternoon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Power was restored to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/dart\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/dart\/\">Dart<\/a> service after about an hour, and trains have started running again, although some delays are likely as the day progresses. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">In a post on social media, Irish Rail said staff were working to resolve the issues and warned passengers to expect delays of over 80 minutes. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">It said knock-on delays on services to and from Connolly Station were also anticipated. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">\u201cThe safety of our passengers and staff is our primary concern and services will be moved to platforms once deemed safe to do so,\u201d the operator said.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Update: Delays of up to +80mins.
