{"id":647879,"date":"2026-08-20T20:47:12","date_gmt":"2026-08-20T20:47:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/647879\/"},"modified":"2026-08-20T20:47:12","modified_gmt":"2026-08-20T20:47:12","slug":"bleech-93-share-brooding-new-single-figure-8-the-product-of-crying-quietly-so-your-flatmates-dont-hear-you","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/647879\/","title":{"rendered":"Bleech 9:3 share brooding new single &#8216;Figure 8&#8217;: &#8220;The product of crying quietly so your flatmates don&#8217;t hear you&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/bleech-9-3\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Bleech\u00a09:3<\/a>\u00a0have shared their brooding new\u00a0single \u2018Figure 8\u2019 \u2013 check it out below.<\/p>\n<p>The London-based Irish band released their self-titled five-song EP in May and now they have followed it up with this new track, released yesterday (August 19) via Polydor Records.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Figure 8\u2019 was produced by the acclaimed producer\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/dan-carey\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dan Carey<\/a>\u00a0(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/fontaines-d-c\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Fontaines D.C.<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/kae-tempest\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kae Tempest<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/wet-leg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Wet Leg<\/a>) and mixed by Rich Costey, whose credits include\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/arctic-monkeys\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Arctic Monkeys <\/a>and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/bruce-springsteen\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Bruce Springsteen<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The song sees frontman Barry \u2018Baz\u2019 Quinlan\u2019s moody vocals jostling for supremacy with squalling, urgent guitars and a tight, propulsive rhythm.<\/p>\n<p>Listen to \u2018Figure 8\u2019 here:<\/p>\n<p>Describing the song\u2019s origins, Quinlan has said: \u201c\u2018Figure 8\u2019 is the product of crying quietly so your\u00a0flatmates\u00a0don\u2019t hear you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The band have been playing festivals around Europe this summer and are set to open for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/wunderhorse\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Wunderhorse<\/a>\u00a0in Belfast and Cork next week, before appearances at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/reading-and-leeds-2026-new-line-up-additions-loyle-carner-violet-grohl-holly-humberstone-and-more-3937008\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Reading &amp; Leeds<\/a>, Electric Picnic and Iceland Airwaves.<\/p>\n<p>They are also set to play a UK and Ireland headline tour later this year, including a show at London\u2019s Electric Ballroom.
