The tennis champion currently holds the No. 1 ranking in women\u2019s singles and has four Grand Slam titles to her name, thanks to her wins at the U.S. Open and Australian Open. Off the court, Sabalenka is celebrating another major milestone: She\u2019s newly engaged!<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"1\" class=\"css-1ood0zq emevuu60\">Earlier this year, Sabalenka hinted at a future proposal while competing in the 2026 Australian Open, when she gave her then-boyfriend, Georgios Frangulis, a sweet shoutout after a match. \u201cThank you to my boyfriend\u2026 Hopefully soon I can call you something else,\u201d she teased. Just two months later, Frangulis made good on the remark, proposing to Sabalenka after two years of dating.<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"2\" class=\"css-1ood0zq emevuu60\">Throughout their relationship, Frangulis has been by Sabalenka\u2019s side, cheering her on from the stands at matches around the world. Ahead, everything to know about Georgios Frangulis and his relationship with the tennis star.<\/p>\n<p>He\u2019s from Brazil. <\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"5\" class=\"css-1ood0zq emevuu60\">Frangulis was born and raised in Sao Paolo, Brazil, but his family is originally from Thessaloniki, Greece\u2014and his Greek roots are important to him. He studied law at Funda\u00e7\u00e3o Armando Alvares Penteado but chose not to take the Brazilian bar exam after graduating in 2014 because he wanted to pursue entrepreneurship instead. After finishing his studies, he moved to Miami, Florida, and later to California.<\/p>\n<p>He\u2019s the founder and CEO of Oakberry. <\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"7\" class=\"left css-1ood0zq emevuu60\">In 2016, Frangulis founded Oakberry, an organic a\u00e7ai bowl and smoothie company serving a\u00e7ai sourced from the Amazon rainforest. The global franchise now has locations in over 40 countries. In 2024, Sabalenka and Oakberry began a global partnership, and she serves as a brand ambassador. She\u2019s since launched her own signature menu items like the \u201cPower Serve bowl.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He\u2019s been on the cover of Forbes Brazil. <\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"11\" class=\"css-1ood0zq emevuu60\">In 2023, Frangulis was featured on the cover of <a rel=\"noopener nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/forbes.com.br\/escolhas-do-editor\/2023\/07\/ceo-e-fundador-da-oakberry-sem-sustentabilidade-nao-existe-acai\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/forbes.com.br\/escolhas-do-editor\/2023\/07\/ceo-e-fundador-da-oakberry-sem-sustentabilidade-nao-existe-acai\/\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"Forbes Brazil\" data-node-id=\"11.1\" class=\"body-link css-1a58m3o emevuu60\">Forbes Brazil<\/a>. In his interview, he opened up about his spirituality, family roots, and how he\u2019s scaled the Oakberry brand. He also revealed that he previously battled thyroid cancer, which ultimately led to him starting the business.<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"12\" class=\"css-1ood0zq emevuu60\">\u201cI never told anyone, but in August 2016, I discovered I had thyroid cancer, a four-centimeter nodule that the doctor said needed to be removed to determine the treatment,\u201d Frangulis told the publication.<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"13\" class=\"css-1ood0zq emevuu60\">\u201cI had surgery on October 16th and managed to open the first Oak store in S\u00e3o Paulo on December 6th, because I was struck by a kind of divine lightning bolt when I needed it most\u2014and least expected it,\u201d he added.<br data-node-id=\"13.1\"\/><\/p>\n<p>He\u2019s also passionate about motorsports.<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"16\" class=\"css-1ood0zq emevuu60\">Apart from being a tennis fan, thanks to his fianc\u00e9e, Frangulis is an avid racing enthusiast. He\u2019s previously competed in the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge races. While juggling his business ventures, his brand, Oakberry, has sponsored Formula 1.<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"17\" class=\"css-1ood0zq emevuu60\">\u201cIt\u2019s not easy to be a driver amidst the whirlwind of growth that is Oak. I\u2019ve always loved tennis and been around it for a long time. Through my company Oakberry we\u2019ve sponsored tournaments, but when you have such a personal connection with someone and with the sport, it becomes something completely different. The couple was surrounded by candles and flowers by a pool as Frangulis got down on one knee.
