\n\tWe\u2019re getting the first look at Edward Bluemel<\/a> as Hercule<\/a> Poirot in BritBox<\/a>\u2018s upcoming six-part drama series Hercule. You can see a cropped image above and full image below.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe origin series, which is currently shooting in Liverpool, is an intimate study of legendary Belgian detective Hercule Poirot, played by Bluemel, the man and an epic portrait of Britain between the wars.\u00a0Hercule\u00a0will center around three of Agatha Christie\u2019s early stories, while also introducing Hercule Poirot to future friends and allies and one particular nemesis\u2026<\/p>\n

\n\tIn addition to Bluemel, previously announced cast includes Henry Ashton\u00a0<\/strong>(A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms,\u00a0A Good Girl\u2019s Guide to Murder),\u00a0James D\u2019Arcy<\/strong>\u00a0(Oppenheimer,\u00a0Constellations),\u00a0Calvin Demba<\/strong>\u00a0(Supacell,\u00a0Life),\u00a0Phil Dunning\u00a0<\/strong>(Smoggie Queens,\u00a0Am I Being Unreasonable?),\u00a0Jack Gleeson<\/strong>\u00a0(House of Guinness,\u00a0In the Land of the Saints and Sinners),\u00a0Tamsin Greig\u00a0<\/strong>(Riot Women,\u00a0Friday Night Dinner),\u00a0James Nesbitt\u00a0<\/strong>(Cold Feet,\u00a0Run Away),\u00a0Guy Remmers<\/strong>\u00a0(The Buccaneers,\u00a0Lessons),\u00a0Rebecca Rittenhouse\u00a0<\/strong>(His & Hers,\u00a0Maggie) and\u00a0Mawaan Rizwan<\/strong>\u00a0(Juice,\u00a0The Split Up).<\/p>\n

\n\tSeries is written by Benji Walters (Obsession). The first two episodes will be directed by Jonny Campbell (Am I Being Unreasonable?). Chanya Button (Doctor Who) will direct the second two eps, and Alrick Riley (Bridgerton) the final two installments. Charlie Palmer (Extraordinary) is series producer.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tHercule is produced by Mammoth Screen, a part of ITV Studios. and Agatha Christie Limited for BritBox in North America, BBC<\/a> iPlayer and BBC One in the UK.<\/p>\n

\n\tDeadline was\u00a0first with the news<\/a>\u00a0in April that\u00a0Hercule\u00a0was in the works, and then the\u00a0Bluemel casting<\/a>\u00a0in June. The series will premiere on the BBC and BritBox in North America in 2027.<\/p>\n
