\n\tJoe<\/a> and Donell Jones faced off in a Verzuz<\/a> battle of \u201990s R&B royalty on Thursday (Aug. 20). Joe raised the stakes when responding to Jones reuniting 702 for \u201cGet It Together\u201d earlier in the night by having 50 Cent<\/a> and G-Unit\u2019s <\/a>Tony Yayo and Uncle Murda join him on stage for round 14.<\/p>\n

\n\tWith the R&B-favoring crowd in a frenzy, 50 took it back to the G-Unit days with a performance of the group\u2019s Marvin Gaye-sampling Joe collaboration \u201cWanna Get to Know You,\u201d which landed on the Unit\u2019s 2003 Beg for Mercy debut and peaked at No. 15 on the Billboard Hot 100.<\/a><\/p>\n

\n\t50 stuck around to perform the Power theme song \u201cBig Rich Town\u201d to ensure another round victory for Joe against the \u201cWhere I Wanna Be\u201d singer.<\/p>\n

\n\tFans seemed to appreciate 50 popping out, while others on social media called him out for dodging a Verzuz battle with T.I. <\/a>earlier this year.<\/p>\n

\n\tJoe\u2019s preparation paid off, as he was a technician on the Verzuz stage, from his performance to song selection, which kept him steps ahead of Donell Jones. Fans agreed and he dominated the Verzuz scorecard<\/a> with an 18-2 victory.<\/p>\n

\n\tJoe leaned on high-profile collaborations such as his Mariah Carey team-up \u201cThank God I Found You\u201d \u2014 but pulled out the Nas remix \u2014 as well as the Mystikal-assisted \u201cStutter,\u201d both of which topped the Hot 100.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cFor me, it\u2019s not really a Verzuz \u2014 it\u2019s a celebration,\u201d Donell Jones told Complex <\/a>before the battle. \u201cWe\u2019re not going to do what the other guys did where it\u2019s beefing back and forth. We\u2019re grown-ass men. We both have two great catalogs. We\u2019re going to treat it as such.\u201d<\/p>\n
