PSG’s Bradley Barcola remains the top target, and personal terms have long since been agreed.

For much of August, it had appeared Barcola’s teammate, Ibrahim Mbaye, would be the second winger Liverpool sign.

Like Barcola, he’s agreed personal terms with the Reds. However, trusted French reporter, Fabrice Hawkins, has claimed PSG’s €70m valuation has put Liverpool off. Andoni Iraola’s side don’t wish to pay any more than €50m.

That’s a situation which has prompted Liverpool owners FSG to move in a different direction, with Brighton’s Yankuba Minteh now the player they want alongside Barcola.

Two bids have been launched, with the latest totalling £60m. Brighton have so far stood firm, though with Minteh agreeing personal terms with Liverpool, the expectation among sources is a third bid – worth around £65m-£70m – would get Brighton’s green light.

However, transfer guru, Fabrizio Romano, has now revealed wingers aren’t the only type of forwards Liverpool are trying to sign.

Alexander Isak is the lone striker option available to Iraola while Hugo Ekitike recovers from a ruptured Achilles. Ekitike won’t be available for selection again until roughly the turn of the year.

Real Madrid respond after Liverpool call about Endrick

As such, and when reporting on his YouTube channel, Romano revealed Liverpool have called Real Madrid about signing their Brazilian striker, Endrick.

Explaining the response from Real Madrid along with what happens next, Romano said: “The story around Endrick over the last two or three days is actually true.

“Because Italian clubs, Roma and AC Milan, have tried and put themselves in contact with agents to try and understand if there was room for negotiations on loan deal and loan possibilities.

“Aston Villa also made a call two weeks ago, but the answer from Real Madrid was always no chance, no chance, no chance, no doors open for Endrick.

“Now important to mention Liverpool also made a call to understand if there was a chance to sign Endrick on loan with a buy option clause, on a permanent deal with a big proposal. Liverpool explored the possibility to sign Endrick.

“But Real Madrid, and when I say Real Madrid I mean Florentino Perez the president, and Jose Mourinho the coach, decided to keep Endrick.

MORE LIVERPOOL COVERAGE ON F365…
* PSG star grows tired of Liverpool transfer saga and reaches fresh decision on future
* Newcastle v Liverpool: Prediction, team news, lineups and odds
* Comparing Yankuba Minteh’s current wages with every player in Liverpool’s squad

“So there is nothing in terms of chances as of today.
