\n\tSpider-Man: Brand New Day<\/a> continues to deliver in its fourth weekend at the box office<\/a> as it faces off against newcomers Insidious: Out of the Further<\/a> and the Jason Statham<\/a>-led Mutiny. <\/p>\n

\n\tSony Pictures<\/a>\u2018 releases are set to claim the top two spots<\/a> at the domestic box office, as Spider-Man: Brand New Day grossed $9.8 million on Friday, with the studio projecting it to add $36.5 million for the weekend\u00a0amid its historic run<\/a>. This would bring its domestic cume to $852.4 million through Sunday, surpassing 2021\u2019s Spider-Man: No Way Home<\/a> to become the No. 3 highest-grossing film ever at the domestic box office. This will also put Brand New Day as Sony\u2019s highest-grossing domestic film after it set the record last weekend<\/a> for the top global release in the studio\u2019s history.<\/p>\n

\n\tInsidious: Out of the Further occupies second place with $10.6 million on Friday, including Thursday previews<\/a>. Sony projects an opening weekend of $23.7 million for the sixth installment in the horror franchise that hails from Screen Gems<\/a>, Stage 6 Films and Blumhouse Atomic Monster and kicked off with 2011\u2019s original Insidious. Out of the Further earned a C+ CinemaScore, tying 2023\u2019s Insidious: The Red Door for the series\u2019 lowest grade. <\/p>\n

\n\tDebuting in 3,330 North American theaters, Out of the Further stars Amelia Eve, Brandon Perea and Lin Shaye and centers on a young mother who can bring spirits back with her to the real world.\u00a0It follows The Red Door, which saw the return of original series stars Patrick Wilson and Rose Byrne. That one opened to an impressive $33 million domestically before grossing $189 million worldwide throughout its run.<\/p>\n

\n\tWith an $18 million production budget, Out of the Further holds a 60 percent approval rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes and a 70 percent audience score. Critic Frank Scheck wrote in his\u00a0review for\u00a0The Hollywood Reporter<\/a>\u00a0that the film \u201cproves routine in its elaborate plot machinations.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAlso opening this weekend is Mutiny, as Lionsgate\u2019s film notched $2.8 million domestically on Friday, including Thursday previews. Earning a B+ CinemaScore from audiences, Statham\u2019s latest action title looks to pick up $7.4 million for the frame to land in sixth place from 2,600 North American screens. MadRiver Pictures and Punch Palace Productions produced the project that carries a $40 million production budget.<\/p>\n

\n\tDirector Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Richet\u2019s feature stars Statham as a former Marine who sets out to prove his innocence after getting framed for murder. It holds a 50 percent approval score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes but an 80 percent score from audiences. Mutiny follows Statham\u2019s\u00a0Shelter, which opened with $5.5 million domestically<\/a> earlier this year for Black Bear.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tUniversal\u2019s The Odyssey<\/a> is finding a home in third place with an estimated $18.5 million for its sixth weekend to bring its domestic total to $538 million. Starring Matt Damon as Odysseus, Christopher Nolan\u2019s mythological epic surpassed Deadpool & Wolverine<\/a> during the week to stand as the highest-grossing R-rated title globally. <\/p>\n

\n\tIn its sophomore frame, director David Robert Mitchell\u2019s dinosaur-focused The End of Oak Street<\/a> looks to scarf down around $8 million to bring the Warner Bros. release\u2019s two-week domestic total to $37 million. Anne Hathaway<\/a> and Ewan McGregor star in the survival feature, which is set to decline by around 62 percent.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe weekend\u2019s top-earning dinosaur film has yet to be determined, as PAW Patrol<\/a>: The Dino Movie is battling with The End of Oak Street for fourth place. Also in its second weekend, Paramount Pictures\u2019 animated sequel is similarly targeting roughly $8 million to decline around 61 percent and bring its domestic tally to an estimated $34 million. <\/p>\n

\n\tExpanding to a wide release in its third weekend is A24\u2019s Tony<\/a>, starring Dominic Sessa as a teenage Anthony Bourdain. The feature serves up an estimated $4.8 million from 1,600 North American screens to claim seventh place and bring its domestic cume to around $6.4 million. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe 25th-anniversary rerelease<\/a> of Universal\u2019s The Fast and the Furious<\/a> pulls into eighth place with an estimated $3.3 million. The Vin Diesel vehicle grossed $207 million globally in its initial run to kick off the franchise that has a long-awaited eleventh installment in the works<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\n\tBlack Bear\u2019s comedy Spa Weekend is currently in ninth place with an estimated $3 million domestically from 2,000 locations. Earning a B+ CinemaScore, directors Jon Lucas and Scott Moore\u2019s movie stars Leslie Mann, Isla Fisher, Michelle Buteau and Anna Faris.<\/p>\n

\n\tStarring Andrew Garfield<\/a>, The Magic Faraway Tree<\/a> is heading for an estimated $1.15 million from 1,600 North American screens to land on the outskirts of the top 10. Vertical releases director Ben Gregor\u2019s literary adaptation<\/a> that also stars Claire Foy.<\/p>\n
