Liverpool<\/a> have a big decision to make on their pursuit of Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh<\/a>, after it was revealed they overlooked three elite midfielders, with a Reds man perfect for Andoni Iraola.<\/p>\n

The summer transfer window is nearing its end and Liverpool<\/a> still don\u2019t have a replacement for Mohamed Salah in their squad. While Victor Munoz has come through the door, the Reds have been tracking multiple wingers after his signing, with the suggestion that two transfers could be made.<\/p>\n

Munoz won a penalty in the 2-2 draw with Newcastle on debut, but talks have been ongoing for the Bradley Barcola, Ibrahim Mbaye and Minteh.<\/p>\n

Yankuba Minteh decision coming<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Reds have had two offers knocked back by Brighton for Minteh \u2013 of \u00a350million and \u00a360million. It\u2019s suggested it will take north of \u00a370million to land the Gambian.<\/p>\n

Ben Jacobs reports \u201cfresh talks\u201d are taking place between the two clubs<\/a> in regards to Minteh.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s suggested the Reds are deciding whether they should increase their offer for the Brighton man.<\/p>\n

The \u00a370million price tag appears a lot for a man with 17 Premier League goal contributions who could be replacing perhaps Liverpool\u2019s best-ever player.<\/p>\n

Liverpool exit Ibrahim Mbaye pursuit<\/strong><\/p>\n

Paris Saint-Germain\u2019s Mbaye is one of the other wingers Liverpool have been pushing for this summer.<\/p>\n

However, Fabrizio Romano<\/a> suggests the demands of the Champions League holders has put the Reds off the potential snare.<\/p>\n

He said on YouTube: \u201cFor Ibrahim Mbaye, appreciated, yes, talks, yes, but other clubs could jump on the opportunity because Liverpool at the moment considered Paris Saint-Germain\u2019s price too high for Ibrahim Mbaye.\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s been reported elsewhere that the asking price for the French forward begins at \u20ac70million (\u00a360m) and Liverpool are not the only side put off by that fee.<\/p>\n

Liverpool overlook three elite midfielders<\/strong><\/p>\n

And Liverpool have chosen not to replace Curtis Jones this summer, with the midfielder heading to Inter Milan, but Andoni Iraola looked at some elite midfielders earlier on in the window but opted against them.<\/p>\n

TEAMtalk insider Graeme Bailey explained<\/a>: \u201cBefore pre-season I am told that Andoni Iraola, aware of the Curtis Jones situation, was worried about the depth \u2013 one reason he wanted Jones to stay.<\/p>\n

\u201cIraola also wanted work done on other options and we can confirm that was the case.<\/p>\n

\u201cA host of options were assessed \u2013 they looked at the Elliot Anderson, Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes situations, but they were not right for them.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut the likes of Adam Wharton, Alex Scott and Lamine Camara \u2013 very good young players \u2013 have been assessed and they like what they have seen and heard, but we are talking \u00a350, \u00a360 or even more than \u00a370million in terms of deals.\u201d<\/p>\n

But Iraola has been so impressed with Liverpool youngster Trey Nyoni that he doesn\u2019t feel a new midfielder is necessary.<\/p>\n
