Mossie Connery, a much-loved sound engineer from Midleton, will be remembered at a special musical event at Cyprus Avenue.<\/p>\n
The celebration of his life is a fundraiser for Cork Stroke Support (CSS), a charity that supported Mr Connery with physiotherapy, counselling, and an eight-week, nurse-led programme to help him recover and adapt to his new lifestyle, following his stroke in December 2020.<\/p>\n
At Cypress Avenue, headline performers The Service, Bog the Donkey, and The Moondogs will be joined by The Hollyz, Kieran Kramer, Dots & The Dude, Gerrie O\u2019Grady & Martin Finn, Joe O\u2019Callaghan, Jamie Stanton, Hank Wedel, Audrey Lynch, and many more.<\/p>\n
Cork Stroke Support continued to help Mossie and his family until his passing in 2023, and the proceeds of the event will go directly to the organisation\u2019s centre in Blackrock, to fund important services for stroke survivors, including rehabilitation, physiotherapy, and exercise programmes, while also providing essential care for families affected by stroke.<\/p>\n
Incredibly supportive<\/p>\n
Mr Connery\u2019s partner, Suzanne Higgins, said: \u201cEveryone at the Cork Stroke Support were incredibly supportive to Mossie throughout his treatment at the centre, and have continued to support and comfort me over the course of the last three years.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is a fantastic service to have in Cork and we are extremely grateful to the team at their centre in Blackrock.\u201d<\/p>\n
Dan Cronin, chairperson of Cork Stroke Support, added: \u201cWe are really looking forward to celebrating Mossie, a hugely popular figure around Cork and especially at our centre in Blackrock.<\/p>\n

The event is a fundraiser for Cork Stroke Support and you can donate online or on the night of the event, on Thursday, August 27.<\/p>\n
