The latest development emerged at a meeting of the Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association (IMPPA) held on August 18, where Singh’s legal team reportedly made its position clear: the industry body should stay out of the dispute, and any decision against the actor could prompt legal action. As per a new report, Singh’s lawyers submitted a fresh letter during the meeting, arguing that IMPPA did not have the authority to adjudicate the matter. The letter reportedly warned that if the association were to pass a resolution against the actor, he would seek legal recourse. This is reportedly not the first time Singh’s legal representatives have asked IMPPA to reject the complaint. The controversy began after Akhtar and Sidhwani approached the association, allegedly seeking Rs 45 crore in damages over the actor’s exit from the film.IMPPA had initially scheduled a hearing for August 14. However, before the meeting could take place, Singh’s legal team submitted a detailed response. An IMPPA member, speaking anonymously told Mid-day, “Before that meeting, Ranveer’s legal team sent a letter mentioning that he did not have a formal agreement with Excel Entertainment; instead, they had only a Memorandum of Understanding [MoU]. He also submitted a formal defence countering the Rs 45 crore claim. His letter also stated that IMPPA should dismiss the complaint as it did not fall under the body’s jurisdiction and that only the court could settle the matter. After receiving Ranveer’s letter, IMPPA postponed the August 14 meeting. When the actor’s father Jagjit Singh Bhavnani showed up, he was told that the meeting had been postponed.”The matter was subsequently taken up on August 18, with representatives from both sides presenting their respective positions. According to the IMPPA insider, Singh’s legal team once again challenged the association’s jurisdiction and maintained that any dispute between the actor and Excel Entertainment should be settled in court. The insider added, “Ranveer’s legal team submitted another letter that stated that Excel Entertainment had no grounds to complain, and if Farhan and Ritesh want, they can take the matter to court. It also said that if IMPPA passed any resolution, then Ranveer would take the legal route. Some people in IMPPA feel that he should face the heat for walking out of a movie at the last minute.”IMPPA has yet to arrive at a final decision. Its president Abhay Sinha confirmed that both sides had presented their arguments and that the association’s legal team is now examining the issue. He said, “The legal teams of both parties gave their versions at the second meeting. Now IMPPA’s legal team is looking into the matter after which we’ll decide.”With Singh challenging IMPPA’s jurisdiction and the producers maintaining their claim, the ‘Don 3’ controversy now appears headed for a potentially larger legal battle, unless both sides find a way to resolve the disagreement outside the courts.

The dispute surrounding Ranveer Singh’s departure from Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s ‘Don 3’ shows no signs of…

[263
106354,276180,18,117,18524,27809,276181,19,223840,17,273834,86819,327,3825,165723
post-653326","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-movies","tag-don-3","tag-don-3-movie","tag-eire","tag-entertainment","tag-excel-entertainment","tag-farhan-akhtar","tag-film-industry-dispute","tag-ie","tag-imppa","tag-ireland","tag-jagjit-singh-bhavnani","tag-legal-action","tag-movies","tag-ranveer-singh","tag-ritesh-sidhwani
["GET
