{"id":654610,"date":"2026-08-24T22:58:13","date_gmt":"2026-08-24T22:58:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/654610\/"},"modified":"2026-08-24T22:58:13","modified_gmt":"2026-08-24T22:58:13","slug":"wendy-williams-show-documentary-coming-to-peacock","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/654610\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Wendy Williams Show\u2018 Documentary Coming to Peacock"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/peacock\/\" id=\"auto-tag_peacock_1\" data-tag=\"peacock\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Peacock<\/a> is preparing to celebrate the cultural influence of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/the-wendy-williams-show\/\" id=\"auto-tag_the-wendy-williams-show_1\" data-tag=\"the-wendy-williams-show\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Wendy Williams Show<\/a> and to interrogate the role of fame in its end.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe streamer announced on Monday that it has greenlit a three-part documentary with the working title Clap If You Care: The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/wendy-williams\/\" id=\"auto-tag_wendy-williams_1\" data-tag=\"wendy-williams\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Wendy Williams<\/a> Show. Set to premiere in 2027, the film focuses on the rise and fall of the syndicated daytime talk show, distributed by Debmar-Mercury between 2008 and 2022, when the show wrapped as host <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/feature\/the-wendy-williams-show-inside-final-days-1235199635\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Williams fought health issues<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tAccording to Peacock, the film not only commemorates the show\u2018s achievement but also \u201csheds light on the complicated truths about the cost of fame and answers long-lingering questions surrounding [Williams\u2018] infamous exit from her own show.\u201c<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe film is being executive produced by Suzanne Bass, who served in the same role on The Wendy Williams Show for 13 seasons. The project is also set to feature more than 20 staffers from the talk show speaking about their time on the program.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tClap If You Care: The Wendy Williams Show is also being executive produced by Ian Orefice, Jon Adler, Amanda Spain and Missy Walker for EverWonder Studio as well as Chris Witherspoon and Vanessa Golembewski.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe project follows a separate documentary on Williams, titled <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-features\/where-is-wendy-williams-documentary-dementia-diagnosis-producers-interview-1235836418\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Where Is Wendy Williams?<\/a>, which aired  on Lifetime in 2024. The film, which documented Williams\u2018 health issues following the cancellation of her show, sparked a lawsuit from Williams\u2018 court-ordered guardian in an attempt to block the film\u2018s release.
