{"id":65514,"date":"2025-09-15T13:33:12","date_gmt":"2025-09-15T13:33:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/65514\/"},"modified":"2025-09-15T13:33:12","modified_gmt":"2025-09-15T13:33:12","slug":"neil-young-the-chrome-hearts-are-being-sued-by-luxury-brand-chrome-hearts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/65514\/","title":{"rendered":"Neil Young &#038; The Chrome Hearts are being sued by luxury brand Chrome Hearts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/neil-young\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Neil Young<\/a> and his backing band, The Chrome Hearts, are being sued by luxury brand Chrome Hearts.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"post-content-read-more\">\n<li><b>Read More:\u00a0<\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/reviews\/live\/neil-young-glastonbury-2025-live-review-setlist-photos-3874220\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><b>Neil Young live at Glastonbury 2025: a no frills set that proves that sometimes, the old ways are the best<\/b><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The trademark infringement lawsuit was brought against Young and his band by the high-end brand, who have been active since the late \u201880s and are well known for the luxury clothing, jewellery and accessories that has been outfitting musicians, designers and athletes for decades.<\/p>\n<p>They are now seeking an injunction that would immediately force Young to stop using the Chrome Hearts name, with the damages they\u2019re seeking as yet unspecified.<\/p>\n<p>Per<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/neil-young-chrome-hearts-trademark-infringement-lawsuit-1235426674\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"> Rolling Stone<\/a>, Chrome Hearts have alleged that they never \u201cgranted a license\u201d or gave Young \u201cany form of permission to use intellectual property belonging to Chrome Hearts\u201d, with the complaint adding: \u201cDefendants have copied Chrome Hearts\u2019 federally registered trademarks in an effort to exploit Chrome Hearts\u2019 reputation in the market.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" data-instgrm-captioned=\"\" data-instgrm-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reel\/DLqTueEM0-p\/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading\" data-instgrm-version=\"14\" style=\" background:#FFF; border:0; border-radius:3px; box-shadow:0 0 1px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.5),0 1px 10px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.15); margin: 1px; max-width:658px; min-width:326px; padding:0; width:99.375%; width:-webkit-calc(100% - 2px); width:calc(100% - 2px);\">\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>As well as Young\u2019s Chrome Hearts bandmates \u2013 namely Micah Nelson, Corey McCormick, Anthony Logerfo, and Spooner Oldham \u2013 Young\u2019s production company, The Other Shoe Productions, was also named as a defendant in the suit.<\/p>\n<p>The Los Angeles-based brand said that by making and selling merchandise bearing the name \u201cNeil Young and the Chrome Hearts\u201d (NYTCH), the \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/neil-young-shares-new-anti-trump-protest-song-big-crime-3890056\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Big Crime<\/a>\u2018 singer and his band would \u201clikely cause confusion\u201d in the marketplace.<\/p>\n<p>While none of Young\u2019s merchandise mimics any of Chrome Hearts\u2019 trademarked logos, the brand claimed that third-party apparel vendors have \u201capparently already mistakenly assumed there is a connection between NYTCH and Chrome Hearts, and are actively promoting that purported connection\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>As noted by <a href=\"https:\/\/pitchfork.com\/news\/neil-young-sued-by-chrome-hearts-fashion-brand-over-new-band-name\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Pitchfork<\/a>, the complaint claims Chrome Hearts had notified Young\u2019s team about the alleged trademark infringement back in July, but they continued to tour under that name and sell merchandise emblazoned with it.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3890065\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/2025_NMEAR_NME-GLASTO-2025-NEIL-YOUNG-LIVE-DEREK-BREMNER_2000x1270.jpg\" alt=\"Neil Young live at Glastonbury 2025, photo by Derek Bremner\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1270\"  \/>Neil Young live at Glastonbury 2025. Credit: Derek Bremner for NME<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this summer,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/reviews\/live\/neil-young-glastonbury-2025-live-review-setlist-photos-3874220\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the band headlined Glastonbury 2025<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/neil-young-announces-bst-hyde-park-2025-support-acts-3864398\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">topped the bill at BST Hyde Park in London<\/a>. They also played a concert at Malahide Castle in Dublin, among numerous other European dates.<\/p>\n<p>In\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/reviews\/live\/neil-young-glastonbury-2025-live-review-setlist-photos-3874220\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">a four-star review of Young\u2019s return to the Pyramid Stage at Glasto<\/a>,\u00a0NME\u00a0described the performance as \u201ca headline set that proves that sometimes, there\u2019s still power to be found in an old-school approach\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is, in short, the definition of no frills,\u201d it read. \u201cIt\u2019s testament to the power of Young\u2019s songwriting, then, just how brilliantly it all works, how little the momentum drops.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Young released his first studio album with the Chrome Hearts,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/neil-young-announces-talkin-to-the-trees-his-first-album-with-chrome-hearts-3860165\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u2018Talkin To The Trees\u2019<\/a>, in June.<\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/www.instagram.com\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Neil Young and his backing band, The Chrome Hearts, are being sued by luxury brand Chrome Hearts.
