Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan found himself at the receiving end of some cheeky Malayalam humour the other day, after posting Onam greetings nearly 10 days after the festival had passed. Dressed in traditional Kerala attire and captioning his post \u2018FB 4421 Onashamsakal\u2019, the veteran actor shared his wishes on Facebook and Twitter\u2014only to be met with a flurry of sarcastic comments from Malayalis who had already wrapped up their Onam celebrations on September 5. The trolling was swift and creative. Some joked that Bachchan might be using a 2G internet connection, while others quipped that Maveli, the mythical king who visits Kerala during Onam, would now need to be summoned back from the Paathalam (netherworld). One netizen even speculated that the confusion may have originated from last year\u2019s Onam falling on September 14, leading to a scheduling slip by the actor\u2019s social media team.<\/p>\n However, in a rare move, Amitabh Bachchan addressed the backlash with grace. He clarified that he personally manages his social media accounts and apologised for the mix-up, writing: “A festive moment is a festive moment\u2026 its spirit and respect never expire. Also, I post on my own\u2014there\u2019s no agent. Apologies.”<\/p>\n Despite the trolling, many fans appreciated the gesture and responded with warmth, wishing him back and enquiring about his health.
