\n\tBusta Rhymes<\/a>\u2019 new album full of previously unreleased J Dilla<\/a> beats also features a posthumous feature from D\u2019Angelo<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tRhymes made Dillagence II out of almost 300 unreleased beats that Dilla gave him before the legendary producer died in 2006. One of those beats came from a session Dilla and D\u2019Angelo did about 20 years ago that never materialized into a proper project. \u201cThey started something and it just never got finished,\u201d Busta recently told The New York Times<\/a>. \u201cI love\u00a0both of them, so I just want to do my part in delivering in that way \u2014 not just for the culture, but for them and for all of us.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tWhat the pair made together now serves as the gentle chorus on \u201cThis Woman,\u201d featuring what appears to be a scratch vocal of D\u2019Angelo interpolating Sister Nancy\u2019s legendary dancehall track \u201cBam Bam.\u201d \u201cThis woman, never troubled no one \/ But if you trouble this woman, it will be a\u2026\u201d D\u2019Angelo croons in his immaculate falsetto before trailing off into a version of \u201cBam Bam\u201d\u2019s famous, wordless hook. Of course, even a D\u2019Angelo scratch vocal makes for a pristine chorus, especially over a Dilla groove elegantly textured with prickly guitars and burbling marimbas.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThis Woman\u201d will also get an official music video, directed by Hype Williams. The visual is slated to drop later today at 12 p.m. ET.<\/p>\n

\n\tThough they were friends for decades, Busta and D\u2019Angelo never released any music together while D\u2019Angelo was alive. After D\u2019Angelo died<\/a> last October, Busta released a tribute song<\/a>, \u201cMagic,\u201d in which he rapped about meeting D\u2019Angelo for the first time while in the studio with A Tribe Called Quest, and celebrated the power of D\u2019s music and life.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But it\u2019s a whole other thing to make it your own and combine what has already been done with what hasn\u2019t been done yet.\u201d<\/p>\n
