{"id":656109,"date":"2026-08-25T18:34:24","date_gmt":"2026-08-25T18:34:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/656109\/"},"modified":"2026-08-25T18:34:24","modified_gmt":"2026-08-25T18:34:24","slug":"virginie-efira-tao-okamoto-awards-campaign-for-all-of-a-sudden","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/656109\/","title":{"rendered":"Virginie Efira &#038; Tao Okamoto Awards Campaign for &#8216;All of a Sudden\u2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/virginie-efira\/\" id=\"auto-tag_virginie-efira_1\" data-tag=\"virginie-efira\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Virginie Efira<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/tao-okamoto\/\" id=\"auto-tag_tao-okamoto_1\" data-tag=\"tao-okamoto\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tao Okamoto<\/a>, who shared the best actress prize at May\u2019s Cannes Film Festival for their performances in Japanese auteur <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/ryusuke-hamaguchi\/\" id=\"auto-tag_ryusuke-hamaguchi_1\" data-tag=\"ryusuke-hamaguchi\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ryusuke Hamaguchi<\/a>\u2019s French-language debut <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/all-of-a-sudden\/\" id=\"auto-tag_all-of-a-sudden_1\" data-tag=\"all-of-a-sudden\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">All of a Sudden<\/a>, will not be pitted against one another this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/awards\/\" id=\"auto-tag_awards_1\" data-tag=\"awards\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">awards<\/a> season, The Hollywood Reporter has exclusively learned.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tNeon, which will release All of a Sudden in the U.S. on Nov. 25, will push Efira, who plays the director of a Paris nursing home in the film, for best actress, and Okamoto, who plays a terminally-ill Japanese playwright, for best supporting actress.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe distributor, which has guided a considerable number of non-English-language films to major awards recognition, including Parasite, The Worst Person in the World and Anatomy of a Fall, will also campaign for All of a Sudden in picture, director and adapted screenplay categories. It remains to be seen if France or Japan will submit the film for the best international feature Oscar race.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tOkamoto who became the first Japanese actress ever honored with Cannes\u2019 best actress prize, just gave birth and is therefore less available to travel than Efira.
