Regionally, Germany&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.GDAXI\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">DAX<\/a> was also down just 0.01%, while the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.FTSE\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">FTSE 100<\/a> closed down 0.4%. France&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.FCHI\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">CAC 40<\/a> bucked the trend and rose 0.7%.<\/p>\n<p>Peace in Ukraine is typically viewed as a positive development by most investors for European equities.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Ganesh Rao<\/p>\n<p>Fri, Aug 15 20258:51 AM EDT<\/p>\n<p>Cable-maker NKT shares jump 6% on raised outlook amid wind energy boom<\/p>\n<p>Tomasz Wyszoamirski | Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>Shares of cable maker NKT rose by more than 6% \u2014 the most among <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.STOXX\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Stoxx Europe 600 index<\/a> stocks \u2014 after the company raised its outlook amid growth in the renewable energy sector.<\/p>\n<p>The Danish company, which makes and installs the cables to connect offshore wind turbines, lifted its revenue expectations for the full year by about to a range between 2.65 billion euros ($.3.1 billion) and 2.75 billion euros, from a 2.37-billion-euro to 2.52 billion-euro forecast, prior.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year, the company had said its order backlog for high-voltage cables stood at more than 10 billion euros.<\/p>\n<p>The stock is up 12% so far this year.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Ganesh Rao<\/p>\n<p>Fri, Aug 15 20258:17 AM EDT<\/p>\n<p>Industrial giants begin sourcing rare earth magnets from U.S. supplier<\/p>\n<p>Switzerland-headquartered industrial giant <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/ABB.N-CH\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">ABB<\/a> has signed a multi-year agreement with U.S.-based Noveon Magnetics for the supply of rare earth magnets.<\/p>\n<p>Under the multi-million-dollar deal, Noveon will begin supplying sintered rare earth magnets in August for use in ABB&#8217;s industrial motor applications in North America.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Capacity for the deal is secured, underscoring ABB&#8217;s confidence in Noveon&#8217;s long-term capabilities and product quality,&#8221; in the second quarter, which would continue to weigh on its bottom line.<\/p>\n<p>Pandora&#8217;s jewelry is manufactured at two factories in Thailand, which has been hit with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2025\/08\/07\/the-full-list-of-us-tariffs-in-place-around-the-world.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">19% &#8220;reciprocal&#8221; tariffs<\/a> by the U.S. \u2014 Pandora&#8217;s biggest market.  <\/p>\n<p>The firm said it expected to take a direct financial hit from U.S. tariffs this year of 200 million Danish kroner ($31.3 million), and a 450 million kroner annualized hit in 2026. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Pandora will consider further price increases, cost measures as well as other mitigation to cover the impact,&#8221;
