Preorders for the console <a href=\"https:\/\/news.xbox.com\/en-us\/2026\/08\/26\/pre-orders-begin-today-xbox-25th-anniversary-collection\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">start August 27th<\/a> at 10AM ET \/ 7AM PT, although Microsoft says \u201csome of XBOX\u2019s most dedicated fans\u201d will receive early access preorder emails starting today.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">The console will <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/news\/945359\/microsoft-xbox-25th-anniversary-console-controller-release-date\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">launch on November 13th<\/a>, alongside a matching controller with the same \u201cOG Green\u201d colorway from the original translucent green Xbox. Microsoft is also including a full-game download of Halo: Campaign Evolved with each of the consoles, and revealed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=YAZPH5VPilE\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">during Gamescom<\/a> on Wednesday that each console will be laser-etched and numbered. Under the special-edition shell, it\u2019s an Xbox Series X with 1TB of storage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">The controller that comes with the special-edition console is also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/d\/xbox-wireless-controller-x25-special-edition\/8wg5vqp0x4h2\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">available to pre-order<\/a> separately starting today for $79, and launches October 20th.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">Microsoft announced the 25th anniversary console at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/entertainment\/944191\/xbox-games-showcase-2026-news-trailers\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Xbox Games Showcase<\/a> in June. At the Xbox FanFest event alongside the showcase, Xbox CEO Asha Sharma also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/xbox\/comments\/1u014pb\/the_xbox_ceo_just_gave_away_free_consoles_to_an\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">surprised attendees<\/a> by announcing anyone in the crowd with a \u201cfan\u201d badge would be getting one of the consoles for free.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">Ahead of the console\u2019s price reveal, Microsoft also launched a collection of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/games\/984530\/microsoft-xbox-25th-anniversary-accessories\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">matching limited-edition accessories<\/a>, including an \u201cOG Green\u201d keyboard, mouse, earbuds, and mobile controllers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The special-edition translucent green Xbox finally has an official price.
