\n\tWhat do you do when you think your movie will never see the light of day? Have a \u201cfuneral screening,\u201d of course.<\/p>\n
\n\tThat\u2019s exactly what the team behind \u201cCoyote vs. Acme<\/a>\u201d did when they feared the live-action-animation hybrid comedy was locked in the Warner Bros. vault for good.<\/a> Luckily, after WB. shelved the project, Ketchup Entertainment scooped up the title<\/a> from the studio in March 2025 and slated it for theatrical release. Audiences will finally get to see the \u201cLooney Tunes\u201d movie on Aug. 28.<\/p>\n \n\tWhen asked what it was like walking into the \u201cfuneral screening,\u201d star Lana Condor told Variety at the film\u2019s L.A. premiere on Wednesday, \u201cIt\u2019s so horrible. It\u2019s like, really easy to blame yourself. You almost feel like, \u2018Was I the problem?\u2019 You\u2019re devastated for the hundreds of people who have worked on this far longer than I have. It feels like a funeral.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tDirector Dave Green said there were \u201cmany, many times\u201d he thought \u201cCoyote vs. Acme\u201d would never come out. Despite his disappointment, he described the mood at the \u201cfuneral screening\u201d as \u201ccelebratory.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cYou can have a New Orleans funeral, [with] a jazz band walking up the street, just having a celebration,\u201d Green joked. \u201cThat screening for us was emotional in so many ways. It was a bit of a party because we were able to share the movie with friends and other filmmakers who had never seen the movie. And I got to share it with Will [Forte] and Lana, who never got to see the final movie. So that moment was so charged and electric, and the room played so hot.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cCoyote vs. Acme\u201d sees \u201cLooney Tunes\u201d villain Wile E. Coyote take the Acme Corporation to court after being injured countless times from using its gadgets (think rocket-powered skates and anvils). Condor and Will Forte<\/a> star. Other cast members include John Cena<\/a>, Tone Bell, Martha Kelly, Luis Guzm\u00e1n, P.J.
