With that in mind, I’m going to cover seven of the iPhone tips that I use every day, which I find genuinely useful.

This is a collection of iPhone tips that are simple, practical, and broadly applicable, the type of features that are routine in my daily iPhone usage, and hopefully might be useful in yours too. And going beyond my own usage, we’d love to hear your own routine iPhone tips and tricks too, so feel free to share those in the comments, and to provide feedback on these tips as well.

Let’s jump to it!

1: Weather Widget on Lock Screen & Home Screen

This is a little quality of life tip that I have really come to appreciate and rely on; seeing the weather immediately.

I place a weather widget showing the current temperature, high temp, low temp, and conditions, directly on the lock screen of my iPhone, and also on my primary Home Screen. No need to visit weather.com or a local news site before getting dressed for the day, I can now see exactly what is expected as soon as I look at my iPhone.

Sure you can open the weather app, but with the weather widget, there’s no need to just get a quick glance at current and expected conditions so you can prepare accordingly. Wondering if it’s sweater weather? Shorts weather? Need a rain jacket? Need a subzero down parka? Your weather widget will let you know.

2: Siri for Reminders

I use Siri for reminders constantly, particularly when it’s something that’s on my mind now but I might forget. Whether it’s “Hey Siri, remind me to take the garbage out in one hour”, or “Siri, remind me in three hours to send an email to Todd”, or “Siri, remind me to grab eggs from the store in 3 hours”, I use this feature every day.

Activate Siri with a long press on your power/lock button, or with the Hey Siri voice command, that’s up to you.

3: Lock Screen Camera

I use the iPhone camera daily for all sorts of things, and being able to access the camera immediately from the lock screen is super convenient and fast.

Whether you use the camera button in the corner, or the camera swipe, both work for instant camera access.

4: Use the Flashlight

My iPhone also happens to be the most used flashlight I own, and I rely on this feature surprisingly often. iPhone Flashlight gets used for everything from an evening dog walk, to looking under the seats of my car for something dropped, to navigating the house late at night without turning on room lights. Since many of us basically always have our iPhone on us at all times, it’s helpful to remember you also have a flashlight on you at all times with this handy feature.

You can also access the Flashlight from Control Center, if you don’t have it or want it on your lock screen.

5: Schedule Messages for the Future

I frequently use the message scheduling feature to send messages in the future, whether it’s a confirmation for a meeting, a message to a friend or loved one, something that is time relevant, or myriad other possibilities. Something I like to do for certain messages is to specify on their they are scheduled, but that’s just a courtesy (or quirk) of my own.

Type your message to the recipient as usual, then tap on (+) plus button and choose “Send Later”, and set the date and time you wish to send the message

This is such a handy feature, don’t miss it!

6: Tap the Top of the Screen to Jump Back to the Top

Whether you’ve scrolled far down a webpage, article, email, or document, just tap on the very top of the screen by the camera/notch / Dynamic Island and you’ll immediately jump back to the top of what is on screen.

This is so much faster than swiping up to the top again.

7: Shake to Undo

Shake to undo has been around for ages, but a lot of users are unfamiliar with this amusing feature. Accidentally delete something you were typing? Physically shake your iPhone.

Whatever you’re accustomed to using the Undo function for, literally sharking your iPhone will trigger the undo action, and it’s quite useful!

8: Automatic Do Not Disturb Mode

Given the amount of distractions, alerts, spam calls and junk texts, and other noise that can come from iPhone, I like to set my iPhone to automatically enter into Do Not Disturb mode at night, and to automatically leave it in the morning. You can set your own schedule for this great feature in Settings:

Go to Settings, then go to “Focus” and choose “Do Not Disturb”

Go to the Set a Schedule area and add a schedule that suits the times you desire, and make sure thats turned on

Choose the schedule that works best for you, and enjoy that peace and quiet. Do note that this will silence all inbound calls and messages during that time, though you can allow certain contacts to break through or bypass, and if someone calls twice in a row, they will also break through the Do Not Disturb mode boundary – and that seems reasonable to me since most spam callers do not call twice in a row.

–

What do you think of this list of handy and practical iPhone tips? Do you use these often too? Which iPhone tips or tricks do you rely on most often, and use every day in your own life? We’d love to hear your top used iPhone tips so share them with us in the comments!

Related

The iPhone is loaded with so many features that it’s easy to overlook some of the most useful…

[257
311,18,19,988,2840,6344,431,17,2839,6342,6343,279,5,6340,6341,82,6345,6346,6347
post-658802","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-mobile","tag-apple","tag-eire","tag-ie","tag-ios","tag-ipad","tag-ipados","tag-iphone","tag-ireland","tag-mac","tag-mac-os-x","tag-macos","tag-mobile","tag-news","tag-os-x-daily","tag-osxdaily","tag-technology","tag-tips","tag-tricks","tag-tutorials
["GET
